Review summary

Good for those who like to smoke, drink, and party on crowded ship. Not as good for those who don't smoke, drink, etc.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Needs more variety on menu. Need toppings for ice cream. Need better quality desserts. Need more long term open dining.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Could have had more variety in entertainment. Safety instructions were well organized. Offer a DVD library with a theater room, or DVD player within staterooms.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Staff was helpful and attentive. Some staff could have been more alert to the readiness of the guests in dining area. Friendly.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Size is good, but, probably best to not put dining rooms above engine room. Best to keep smoking areas where it can allow for clean air in staterooms. Cigarette smoke in nonsmoking staterooms doesn't make for a pleasant stay.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Size was very small, not easy to move about between bathroom and doorway without crowding. Need more amenities in sleeping area, such as, a DVD player in the updated TV, or a room on the ship for a DVD library/theater. Cigarette smoke did move through the vents into our room, so that was very unpleasant, but, the housekeeping did all they could to clean the air often, but, the smoke smell was there frequently still.

Ports of call

Catalina Island, California

3 out of 5
I enjoyed visiting the shops. Lots of souvenirs. Very beautiful landscape. Considered doing an off shore excursion, but, got less successful reviews from those who did. They were costly, too.

Ensenada, Mexico

3 out of 5
Lots of interesting shops, friendly people among shops. Lots of souvenirs, but, have to watch for some inappropriate items that are sold in many of the shops. Beautiful landscapes. Didn't visit any restaurants.

Pros: Ship decor, views, helpful and friendly housekeeping staff

Cons: Cigarette Smoke that came frequently through vents into our nonsmoking room.

Recommends Carnival Paradise? No.
