Review summary

The staff are great. I wish they will again have the support they had before COVID.

Embarkation

Long line with no social distancing

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
This must be the way Carnival is trying to get the costs more in line. Frequently did not get dinner roll with meals. Worse later in the cruise. I think the person in charge of ordering food supplies was not on this cruise. Bonsai sushi was the only specialty restaurant we tried this cruise and it was great. 3 months ago we were on this ship and it was great to be back to cruising. This time not so great.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Not a good time to lay by the pool. The pool was cold and air temperature in the 60 or below until we got to the southern cities. Temperature in the 80s was good for sun bathing. Didn’t win deal or no deal also didn’t win BINGO.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The shows were about half, 4 dancer/singers in place of 8-10. 2 night the show was 4 entertainers sitting on 4 stools. The entertainers had great voices but they need a new choreographer. The comedian were all great.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I think the staff were great but they had no support from the staff behind the scenes. The guy that controls the lights during the shows is still shining the lights in peoples eyes as they are trying to watch the show. Most of the salt shakers had the holes plugged. I am going to bring a pin on my next cruise.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful ship. Well designed and always clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Great location, spacious, and clean and kept clean by our Stewart. Stewarts name had 5-6 letters but he only used the last two pronounced YU.

Ship tip

Enjoy your cruise as I did the first time I was on this ship. Maybe I have just turned into a grumpy old man not satisfied with anything in only three months.

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Beautiful place

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

I live to near the port to evaluate it for anybody else.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Maybe the easiest I have experienced.

Thanks for the review. When we cruised on October, my wife and I tried to keep in mind is that resource availability has changed for all levels, from the staff we see, to management working to get the cruise industry back on its feet. This perspective helps us be more understanding when we see where things “aren’t like they were” pre COVID…
