Review summary

Really enjoyed this cruise. Their elevators are the best. Select the deck from the lobby and go to the elevator it selects. They have handwashing stations near and in the buffet area. You place your hands into each cylinder and the cylinders start spinning and completely clean your hands for 12 seconds. It's like a spa for your hands. I want one for home! Awesome. Overall décor was much nicer than other Carnival ships. We will absolutely sail on her again!

Embarkation

First cruise post COVID pause, so not sure what to expect. Seemed very organized and smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Appreciated all the choices for lunch including some specialty restaurants with no charge lunches. Buffets were all self serve and everyone followed guidelines. Chocolate Getaway is our new favorite drink!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We didn't participate, but there were plenty of options.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The first two comedian's at Punchliner were OK. The second two were FANTASTIC. Shows in the Liquid Lounge were good but the showroom layout was nowhere as good as, say, the Princess Theaters.

Children's Programs

No Kids.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Although we did not go to the MDR, the Buffet service was really good. Our room steward, Anton, was friendly and always greeted us by name.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The decor was so much more upscale than the last Carnival ship we took, the Imagination. Very impressive.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nicely laid out. Compared to Princess, our normal cruise line, we liked the couch on Carnival but preferred the closets on Princess.

Ship tip

Enjoy all of the food options and don't miss the Punchliner at the Lime Light room.

Ports of call

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

We've been several times. Quite hot and humid so just walked to the mall and back.

Mazatlan, Mexico

We got off the ship and took the "Blue Line" into town. Due to heat, we got about halfway. Police on every corner. Felt safe but wondered what would happen if no Police.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Getting off the ship was great. Only bottleneck was going through Customs
