Review summary

This was a lovely 3 day cruise! The ship is beautiful with lots of activities to do and explore.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation on Carnival is usually pretty quick and this time was no different. You pick the time frame you want to arrive at and if you’re on time they put you right in line. The process goes by super fast and you’re on the boat in no time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The Dining Room food was really good. There’s definitely been improvement. This new ship has a lot of nice up charge restaurants to eat at as well. The lido deck food still isn’t the best but it’s not bad. They’ve also changed the sea day brunch menu.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The ropes course and the skyride are both super fun. They also have the clubhouse, mini golf, and the water slides. We didn’t get to try skyzone but it looked really cool.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our cabin was very nice and clean. It fit the four of us very comfortably. We had a balcony room, which was quite spacious with a nice view.

Ship tip

Be prepared to take the stairs! They have a new elevator system where you pick the floor you’re going to and it tells you which elevator to use. The concept of it is nice but it takes to long and you end up just taking the stairs to whatever floor you’re trying to get to.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

4 out of 5

Ensenada, Mexico

3 out of 5
I’ve been to Ensenada a couple of times now and it’s still my least favorite port. I wish there was more to see and do there.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Disembarkation on Carnival is usually pretty quick and this time was no different. If you’re carrying your luggage off you just wait for your floor level to be called and then get in line to get off. The line moved smoothly and there was no hassle with customs

For the elevators, everyone needs to push the button once for every person in their party and use the handicap button if there is a mobility device. Otherwise, elevators will stop and there will be no room to board.
