Review summary

It was ok. I had fun. I got covid from the cruise. Weather was bad and put a damper on things and we couldn't get off at Catalina. Food isn't good so bring your own snacks. But overall not bad.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
I have been on 4 cruises through carnival. The food was always excellent until this trip. Food was not good at all. They need to make major improvements in the food quality and taste. That goes for both the buffet and the dining room.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We played mini golf and ping pong. Weather prevented swimming. I have no complaints on the activities. It was fun. Bingo is too expensive.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Stage shows were good as well as the comedy shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was excellent.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The Miracle is an old ship and it shows. Needs updating. The ship isn't as open as others I've been on so seemed kinda claustrophobic to me. Very narrow hallways to the rooms. It was clean though.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
My biggest complaint was there was only 1 outlet that took a regular plug. It was very difficult to charge things because of no outlets. Our friends went had the room next door and they had lamps on either side of their bed which had some additional plugs but our lamps had none and the only usable plug in in the room was across the room on the dresser. Very very inconvenient.

Ship tip

Take a power strip and extension cords. The pizza on the ship was good and we ate it a lot due to the other food being terrible. You will have a good time in spite of it all. I would like to add that I started with a sore throat the day we disembarked and when I got home found out I had contracted covid on the cruise. I'd say expect that is a likely possibility with so many people on the ship but it wouldn't deter me from going again but it may be a consideration for some compromised individuals. Overall, I enjoyed myself.

If you ask at guest services they can provide you with an extension cord. If you travel on older ships you should get yourself a power block with multiple outlets. Make sure it is cruise line approved, you can’t have anything that has surge protection they will take it from you.
