Review summary

Overall it was a good cruise for the first one. Would have been good to know about not being able to get off the ship if you’re not vaccinated. Drinks were very expensive.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Crew wasn’t very helpful or explanatory on where to go at first, what to do, or how to find our room. I was just told by the majority of people “I’m new ask someone else”.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was good for the most part, serving sizes were pretty small so we had to go to other restaurants to eat more sometimes.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
There wasn’t too many activities, things kept getting closed early.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Pretty good and entertaining shows and musicians.

Children's Programs

We did not bring any children but all the childrens activities were closed the entire time anyways.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service was very good, all of the waiters and waitresses were very kind and polite. The first dinner we had our waitress made us wait to order until everyone at our table showed up, one group did not end up showing up so we had to wait for nothing. Our room steward Aron was amazing. He was super kind and polite, greeted us every time we saw him, remembered our names.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Everything was pretty clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our room steward kept everything really clean and well kept. The only bad part about the room was the kind size bed was just two twin sized beds put together so they beds kept splitting in the middle throughout each night.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

4 out of 5
Very pretty

Catalina Island, California

1 out of 5
We weren’t allowed off the boat because one of us wasn’t vaccinated. It would have been nice to have known that before hand.

Ensenada, Mexico

4 out of 5
We had to book a bubble tour in order to go but was very pretty there.

You can always order more then one entree, appetizer or dessert on the menu.

For dining try anytime dining next time, better option I think and you don’t have to work about other people. For getting off the ship, unvaxxed I am sure know the rules for the last six mths. Solution is don’t travel to other countries with unvaxxed people right now as it is complicated. You are better than I as I certainly would have left the unvaxxed person behind and went out and explored for the day

I guess this was your first cruise and it sounds like you didn't do any research. Too bad as it would have been more enjoyable. Many ports will not let you go if not vaccinated. And other ports and ships also have rules and some for vaccinated also. However, I was under the impression that all adults must be vaccinated to cruise. I'm wondering why you had a table for dinner with other passengers if you weren't vaccinated. Also, in MDR, if dinners are small you can always ask for more. We always have at least 3 appetizers each and sometimes 2 entrees. You should never be hungry on a cruise ship. If you go again, please do some research and watch Youtube.

Thanks for the review. It’s always important to read all of the requirements prior to sailing. The restrictions on unvaccinated passengers is listed on the website and information you should have received in emails from the cruise line.
