That particular ship needs upgrades or should only be used for shorter cruises that cost less until it is upgraded

Service and Staff
4 out of 5
the people were great, but the towels were very yellow and dingy and the bedding was as well. I was disappointed
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
design is good. The ship is being cleaned, but the hallway to my room had this horrible musty smell and there's so many areas that need updating. i was disappointed
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
there is so many rusty areas in the bathroom, the vents were so dirty, the balcony water drainway was black with mold, the carpet needs to be replaced. I could go on and on, but there are significant upgrades needed. I was very disappointed
Ship tip
not to get on this ship until significant updates have been made through cleaning replacement of needed items
no excursion, but the shuttle experience was a disaster. We paid for the premium deal, but was lumped in with the same folks who didn't. The bus wait was almost 90 minutes.
great culture on this island. our excursion which we thought was on a bus wound up being us crammed in to a 15 passenger van, so getting pictures and stuff was hard. the driver did make a couple of stops for us to get pictures, but it was hard getting in and out of the van
the food there was great, the folks are too aggressive towards the tourist. every where we went we were being rushed by folks to buy something. i felt intimidated
The pictures you took are simple maintenance issues. Salt water causes rust, just like road salt rusts cars. Ships are drydocked every 5 years or so. They have nothing to do with ship upgrades. The ships that are used for short cruises are the (20%) smaller fantasy class ships that are 25+ years old. Hard to imagine that the spirit ships have already been in service for 15 years. There's always the Pride of America for those Hawaiian cruises.
I'm going to Hawaii Feb 2021 so hopefully things will be improved by then. It was important that I go at this time so this was the only ship. I have been on 5 cruises through carnival so I am sure it will be great!
I’m on the Miracle now and I agree with the update process. I’m not on here to inspect, however, it’s obvious that it needs an overhaul. Other than that, the food and everything else is great!
I always do research of the ship and if it's old and hasn't been updated in a while, then you can expect to see wear and tear. Stick to newer ships and you'll be fine.
I will be on the miracle in December and plan on having a gray time despite these issues. Thanks for the information. Let's me know what i may come across. This ship will be upgraded in February and this issues should be taken care of.
