This was my first cruise. I went with a friend to celebrate my 60th birthday. Everyone said.. you will love it. That was not the case. For me it was rushed. I didn't like having to dress for dinner. Having to be there at a certain time. When you went to a theater all the seats were being saved for others. The food was not what I expected. It wasn't horrible but I sure thought it would be better. I don't regret going. It was an ok experience. I'm pretty sure I won't cruise again.
Embarkation

Getting aboard was smooth. Very organized.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Drinks were expensive. Buffet was mediocre. Main dining room food was better but service was mediocre. The specialty restaurant Nick and Nora's steakhouse was excellent all around.
Onboard Activities

Pools were crowded but nice. I used the serenity area adults only. I enjoyed the whirlpool there.
Mr. Lucky's Casino

Full of smoke. I couldn't stand to even be near this place. Sad because I had plan on gambling. Instead I had to avoid the casino which was difficult because it is right in the middle of the ship.
Entertainment

The comedians were good. Much better than expected.
Service and Staff

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin 8219. The room was fine. Plenty of space for storage. I enjoyed the private balcony. I was right under the buffet so it was noisy all of the time. I wish I had chosen one floor down. Earplugs helped. The bed was very comfortable.
Our scuba diving excursion was canceled due to rough seas. Did get off the ship and went to Margaritaville for lunch. Made the best of it but didn't see much of Grand Cayman Island.
Cruising is not for everyone you do tend to adjust you either love it or hate it and you have to enjoy your vacation but if it's not for you that's fine at least you tried and now you can vacation elsewhere:-)
You should have done more research before you left. A cruise is what you make of it. No need to be rushed at dinner, they have anytime dining. And definitely no need to dress up for dinner even on formal nights. Slacks and a nice top are fine for women. Get s balcony cabin and have quiet times by yourself reading a book or just watching the ocean. Go or not go off the ship to ports. Everything is up to you. Try cruising again with these suggestions. Best vacation ever.
Yiu didnt have to dress for dinner, you could of choose anytime dining and a cruise is what you make it. You cam do your own thing and go or not go where you want. You do have to go a little early to the shows. I usually dont go. I do go to the comedy club(early). Sorry you didnt enjoy it.
