Review summary

My Husband and I both agreed that if we did another cruise we would not do a 7 day Caribbean as it was a bit long. I was previously on a 4 day cruise and that was long enouph. We would consider a 7 day Alaskan cruise however.

Embarkation

there was no waiting line to check in and we were able to go to our room right away

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main Dining room- our head waiter was EXCELLENT!! He knew everyone's name. Service was great. I down rated this only due to the food temp at all the stations could have been hotter. Selection was great. if you were hungry it was your own fault!. For Drinks we had the soft drink Package. I do not feel we got out moneys worth due to the inconvenience of getting soda and there were only certain bars that had soda. If the bartender saw you were soda person they kind of ignored you. you could get lemonade/juice/tea all the time on tap for free to everyone. t The ice tea on tap was very weak and tasteless. Had I known that you could get these items for free I would not have purchased the soda package.

Onboard Activities

We did not participate in them. however I will say that the photographers were a little annoying trying to get you to sit for professional photos that cost a lot of $$$

Entertainment

4 out of 5
some of the bands were pretty good. at times the DJ volume was so loud that you could not talk to the person next to you on the Lido deck. We see one comedian which put on an "adult only" show at it was really pretty crude. But we knew that before attending and they warned you in the beginning of the show.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room Stewart - Wayan - was really good and attentive. Always used our name when seeing us in the hall. would ask if there is anything we need. We did have 2 room issues. Once the AC was not working. Found Wayan in the hall doing night service and he called maintenance ASAP and with in 5 min they found the issue and it was working. Second time out toilet would not flush then decided to flush on its own causing it to flow over. we again found Wayan doing night service and he had this fixed and the bathroom cleaned by the time we were back from dinner. Main dining evening waiter Name was Aljun Head waiter and Puto-Asst team waiter. they were both FANTASTIC. Knew our names and used it every time they took your order or ask how the food is. Aljun can really dance to! He was very energetic during the dinner dance show. Service was fast. Not the waiters fault but the temp of the food could have been hotter but when you are feeding 1000+ people all at once that is hard to do. we traveled with a group of 25 people and out waiter took GREAT care of all of us - we were sad on the final night we would never see them again.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Since the age of the Miricle is an older ship it looked in pretty good shape. on days that everyone was off ship the crew really did a lot of work from painting to carpet cleaning. there was no "old ship" stink. The Casino was the only issue do to smoking-you had to pass through this area to get from one end to the other or take a diff floor.

Cabin / Stateroom

bed was really comfy. best sleep we had in a long time. Room was really clean. I had no issues walking around without shoes in the room as the carpet was very clean too!

Ship tip

If you are not a huge soda drinker - like several during the day- dont bother with the soda package. take advantage of the free lemondaid/juice/tea

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida

Price charged for the majority of the excourtions was way to much for what you get. I still have not gotten post cards I paid to have mailed from Hell Grand Cayman and we have been home 3 weeks. I know one thing I would not do is go into "towns" on your own as they are pretty run down and I would be a little fearful of being ripped off. Carnival definetly recomends to stay within the designated areas for a good reason. we did some ports bus or tolley rides and from what we saw the areas away from the designated areas were scarry!

Cozumel, Mexico

unless you want to go on a party boat or snokeling - stay on the ship. we went into the designated shopping area and were constanally harrased to go into all the shops as you walk down the very narrow sidewalk. I would have gone in some shops if it hadn't been for the constant harrasment on the main street as well as the 'Carnival' shops neat the port.

Belize City, Belize

enjoyed the Train Tolley Tour as it was a good way to see the city and learn about alot of history. this are has a lot of areas hit by hurricane in 2016 that had not recovered yet.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

we did dolfin swim and really enjoyed it. pretty pricey but for the appx hour we were swimming and interacting with the dolfins it was worth it. the bus ride out there - the driver was crazy and almost rear ended a car. the dolfin swim take alot of photos for you and we bought the entire package which was 65 shots for appc $68. it was downloaded to my phone and file sent to my email. if you only wanted 3 phots it was appx $35

George Town, Grand Cayman

We took a land and sea excourtion. we liked the glass bottom boat and turtle farm. then the drive out to Hell. Driver was the "tour guide" and the things he was pointing out were weird things like "ther is a new gas statin" "There is KFC". I paid for 2 post cards to have sent home from HELL and have not recieved them YET 3 weeks later. I am still hoping they show up.

Disembarkation

we had ealry flight and was suposed to be first off the ship. we had to wait for all the Gold and Platinum members, disabled and military were off the ship - which took well over 1 1/2 hrs before we were allowed off. We did get to the airport in time but dont tell someone you can get off at 8AM when you really will not be off for an 1/1/2 hours after you are to be in the meeting area.

I can’t imagine feeling like 7 days is too long. It seems like we are just getting started after a week.
