Review summary

Overall, we had only great things to say about our trip and our experience. We wont be doing this one again but we totally would if we lived closer. If we are going to fly to Florida we would rather try different ports and different ships. We were always busy and always full.

Embarkation

Ran smoothly. No significantly long waits. We boarded the ship quickly. Some port people could have been a little more pleasant but others were AWESOME.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Older, smaller ship so you have to know that going in. But everything was clean and pleasant. There are always enough food options both in the dining room and the buffets. Room Service missed us one morning but it was no biggie and they came immediately after I called. Food quality, specifically the meats, isnt the best but again I feel like you get what you pay for and there are always other options. or if you don't like something they will bring you something else. we had anytime dining, which i didn't love bc we made some amazing friends last time with set dining times. We ate dinner at main dining room every night. Would love if they got a Guys burger and blue iguana. My daughter always loves swirls!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There were always enough activities. We had a lot of ports and not a lot of at sea days so we were always entertained when on the boat. The shows aren't broadway but they are always fun. Lip Sync battle is always a good time. Frankie does a great job! Boop

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We enjoyed them, again not broadway but always a good time. We got stuck at sea on the last day due to the port being closed as the tampa fog was thick and the crew came up with different things to keep the guest occupied.

Children's Programs

My daughter didnt do kids club this trip.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Milgrade our room steward was very accomadating and our waiters were always good. We did any time so we had different ones but they all did a good job. Everyone on the ship was polite and friendly. Photographer Mary Ruth (Mary something, so sorry i forgot) was literally the best and my daughter loved her.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
easy layout to find everything. Could use some updating but everything was nice and clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

Room was great. the obstructed view was pretty obstructed but that's our fault for booking so late. Some of the emergency boats are bigger than others and we happen to have a bigger one out our balcony so it obstructed the view more than others. but it was still good to have the balcony. it was a quiet room. although i still have a problem with other guests not understanding how easy it is to hold the door closed or to pick up balcony furniture when moving it. Simple, courteous things can help others enjoy quiet relaxing time without hearing doors bang closed every minute or people continuously rearranging their balcony chairs. Common sense/common courtesy

Ship tip

Have Fun. Explore.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida

We stayed in Ybor City, which is honestly a little sketch. New York Pizza down the street was great. The Hampton Inn and Suites was nice and the shuttle to the port was great (altho they did run a little behind schedule). It also had a complimentary breakfast. We ended up having to get a hotel unexpectantly on the way home due to the port closure and we stayed near the airport at the Hilton Garden Inn. It was nice as well and had a shuttle to the airport. A little expensive but it was last minute due to the extra day at sea. I do wish carnival compensated in some way for these delays but i guess bc its weather related they cant be held responsible.

Cozumel, Mexico

We went to Mr. Sanchos and had a really nice time. Food and drinks are plentiful, nothing great but def plentiful. My daughter loved the extra water park. It was a nice beach day on Christmas.

Belize City, Belize

We did the city tour and Altun-ha ruins. It was nice but nothing great. Although our tour leader, Ms. Joyce was UN-BELIZE-ABLE. she was so kind and knowledgeable and made the bus tour awesome. The food at the site is AWESOME, def try the chicken and rice! Port itself is blah and very congested, nothing spectacular at port.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

This was probably our favorite stop. the beach is so beautiful. and we loved all the lush trees around the island. So much to do right at port. the flying carts are so fun and a nice way to get to the beach. the walk doesn't seem long though but we did the carts which we loved. chairs, if not reserved can be hard to find and are mostly in the shade. the chicken wings were AMAZING.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Beautiful Island. We did the turtle tour and snorkel and it was really fun. we did the lunch included but didn't realize it was a buffet, which we didn't care too much for. I would just go without and order off the menu. The snorkel was cool bc we aren't snorkelers and its just a man made thing so you are safe but still is fun to swim around and snorkel. my daughter loved this.

Disembarkation

It was long but mostly bc we were stuck at sea for 10 hours unexpectantly. just took a while to get the ship cleared and get those off who didnt check luggage. We just wanted to get off the boat at this point. Flight was missed and were still working on getting that fixed and finding a hotel bc while we were stranded at sea, phone service and internet was limited.
