Review summary

This boat is old and really needs an update. We were disappointed it didn't have a screen outside by the pool for Dive-in movies. All that said, the employees were super friendly and helpful and our family of 5 had a wonderful time. For being old, the boat was kept very clean. Food was plentiful but not always tasty. Sandwich bar is fantastic! Love ice cream around the clock and ate my weight in Melting Chocolate Cake--sweet mercy! For a 7-day cruise, family of 5 and two balcony rooms, an older boat was worth the cheaper price. I suppose if we had ever been on a luxury cruise, this would be a disappointment. We choose to make the best of any situation and enjoy time with family. Our 10 year old was really apprehensive about cruising for the first time and also going to Camp Ocean. She ended up loving it and cried when she had to leave her new friends. Last thing: Prepare yourself for a frustrating debarkation process. When we arrived in port and people started getting off the boat, we found out there was ONE customs agent for 2500 +/- people. By the time we got there, there were 3 agents. This is not Carnival's fault or the terminal workers. Totally on customs. However, Carnival could've done a better job and making frequent apologies and announcements with updates as to what was going on. Be patient and be nice to the Carnival employees. Nothing they can do about Customs problems.

It had a dull, stinky odor the whole time. We took spray with us so that helped. Outdated decor but the bed was surprisingly comfortable. We LOVE balcony rooms.

All we did is board the boat. It was chaos outside the terminal.

Cozumel, Mexico

Went to Paradise Beach. $21 cab ride each way for 5 people. $3/each entry fee includes restroom/changing facilities and very nice pool. $18/each additional for water blow-up toys, snorkel equipment, kayaks, paddle boards. Food was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed this outing for not much money and not an official excursion.

Belize City, Belize

Cave tubing excursion through Carnival. Very well organized. Must take "tender" (ferry ride from boat to port) since boat can't dock due to shallow water. Met in theater for instructions. Very clear and organized. Excursion was great. Guides were informative, warm and helpful. Food was really good. I eat a lot so it was a little pricey to get filled up. Definitely recommend this excursion.

Went to Mahogany Bay. Short walk, TONS of chairs including many in the shade which we prefer. Didn't pay anything extra for water toys and ate on the ship. Beautiful setting but a bit crowded.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Grand Cayman is beautiful. Our favorite stop. Did one of the stingray excursion through Carnival. Incredible experience. My wife does not get in anything but pool water but she did this. She was a bit apprehensive at first but got comfortable quickly and even took off her inflatable life vest. Great pics of us holding the stingrays. Recommend a good waterproof pouch for your phone to take lots of pics.
