Review summary

This was an enjoyable cruise on Carnival. I had previously visited all of the ports but still found new excursions to enjoy. This ship is older and shows some signs of wear but still comfortable and clean. The Serenity deck for adults was fantastic. The comedians were fantastic, especially Kim Harrison and Larry Omaha! We purchased bottles of alcohol to take home and found the prices on ship to be much lower than at home and lower than most of the duty free shops in port. There were a lot of children on the ship but they must have been well entertained because we were not bothered by them in any way.

Service and Staff

Rooms were well and frequently serviced by the room stewards. Waiters sometimes seemed to have difficulty keeping up with the volume of guests.

Ship Quality

I like the design of the Spirit Class ships....long and narrow. This is an older ship so it is showing some wear. An easy fix that would have gone a long way with me would have been new towels. While we got clean towels a couple of times each day, the towels were old and stained. Likewise, the beach towels provided in the cabin were old and worn with lots of snags and long threads handing from them.

Ship tip

This is an older ship that is showing some wear. But, if you're looking for a low-key, relaxing trip, this ship is great.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

We didn't spend much time at the port but we did an excursion that took us to a church and an orphanage. If you are interested in the lives of the people of Mexico this is a great excursion. We really liked it.

Belize City, Belize

The port area is better than it was a few years ago but more work is still needed. We did an excursion to Lamanai to tour Mayan ruins. I highly recommend this excursion.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

We stayed in the port area and spent the day at Mahogany Bay beach. It was a beautiful beach but I don't recommend purchasing a beach excursion from the cruise line. You can walk on the beach for free and claim an unoccupied lounge chair. Then, choose whether to rent an umbrella, float, etc. It's much cheaper that way.

George Town, Grand Cayman

A beautiful, well developed island. More like a 1st world town.
