Review summary

The cruise was okay, but not great. The issue I have is with an excursion I had booked prior to departure, as recommended by Carnival. They cancelled the excursion prior to departure and promised a refund to my credit card in 5-7 days. After calling the company, they said I would receive the amount I put on a gift card in 10 days, which would have allowed me to use it on the cruise. I did not receive the refund until after the cruise and it was short by $16. I have spent 5 phone calls of my time with the company asking them for a refund and asking them to do it in a way I can use the money, they have refused to refund the money in any other way than a gift card, they want to make sure I spend the money on them, along with whatever money I have to spend to accomplish that. To do this, they have spent the same amount of time on the phone in addition to the cost of making new card and mailing them via express mail, which I am sure they will do again. My girlfriend wants me to go on a cruise with her and I right now, I don't want to go again. If she does talk me into it, I will not be sailing on Carnival.

I had the same experience as Harleychick. Carnival excursion cancelled and credited immediately.

That's a brunch of crappy, when you pay good money for something and they give you credit for another cruise, and short you tooπŸ‘ŽπŸ–•

What Emo507 said. This is true with any vendor. Ask once if you get the run around turn it over to your credit/debit card. They WILL get your money back and fine the company.

Dispute the unrefunded portion/amount through your credit card folks.

Wow! I had a different experience - we had a sudden port change at midnight due to a sick passenger. By the time I got out of bed in the morning, there was a credit on my sign and sail (I had purchased it prior to the cruise on a credit and was expecting to have to wait a few days for it to be credited back to my card)...
