Review summary

It was a great family vacation with a lot of firsts for our family. Having 4 days a row in port was pretty tiring, would have liked to have had another sea day in between to break it up. The kids club was wonderful, the cabins comfortable, but in need of updating. I DO NOT like the drink package policy. If it's purchased by one person, then everyone over 21 in the cabin also has to purchase it. My husband drinks, but I do not, so basically I would have been charged over $350 for the week for nothing.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Bacchus Dining Room

3 out of 5

Didn't like where we were seated. It was far out of the way in a corner and we didn't feel like we were part of the activities that were going on. Food was okay, but think it's crazy that they now charge a $20 up charge for a good steak!

Onboard Activities

Mr. Lucky's Casino

4 out of 5

Spent far too much time in the casino :) , but thought if was clean, there was a good variety of machines and the employees were very pleasant!

Photo Gallery

3 out of 5

I think that the photos are too expensive! If they were more reasonable, people would buy so much more and there wouldn't be so many discarded, which is such a waste. The ship would still make a lot of money by the volume and the travelers would be happier!

Ulysses Main Pool

2 out of 5

Was very frustrated by the 40 min. towel rule. While I can appreciate the attempt to avoid people from saving chairs all day, we just left for breakfast in the dining room and were gone 50 min. and lost our chairs. We came straight back and feel that maybe the time should be longer than just 40 min. We had a 3 year old and really needed to be near the pool. I also felt the employee was not very understanding.

Entertainment

The stage shows were outstanding!

Children's Programs

Our grandchildren loved going to the kids club.

Video Arcade

3 out of 5

Didn't think the arcade had very much to offer, especially for the younger children.

Camp Carnival

5 out of 5

Camp Carnival was great! It was fun, safe and secure and it provided some time for parents to enjoy the sun or casino. The kids loved it!

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was roomy, the beds comfortable, but the wood around the counter was pretty worn and in need up updating.

Ship tip

Be sure if booking excursions on your own that you reserve by ship time and not island time.

And I agree about the port days... I only like maybe 2 then a sea day. Unfortunately, my Alaska itinerary has 4 port days together. They are shorter days, so I'm hoping it won't be bad!

I think the drink policy is there so one party can't slip the others drinks... you know people would do that... I get the wine package for dinner. I don't drink much other than that, so we don't get it...
