Review summary

Overall this cruise was a good Christmas Cruise and our 1st cruise after Covid. We choose the cruise based off of ports rather than ship since this was the 3rd cruise on the Magic.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The embarkation process was a bit slow and seemed unorganized at the port but once through it was fast to board the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining room food was on par to what one would usually get in the dining room. Guy's Burger Joint did not disappoint nor did the BlueIguana Cantina. We especially liked the Cucina del Capitano which actually fornthe cost exceeded our expectations.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We used the fitness center for a few yoga classes as well as the water slides one day when we were in a port that we didn't get off at.

Entertainment

4 out of 5

Children's Programs

We did not use any of the children's programs.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was great. He took care of any need we may have had throughout our cruise.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
With the 2 bunks down it was not the most spacious rooms but overall it accomplished the task of having everyone comfortable for the duration of out cruise.

Ports of call

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
We really enjoyed this port since the beach is right there as soon as you get off of the ferry from the cruise port to Philipsburg. Shopping and eating venues are all over which gives you alot of options.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

5 out of 5
We did an independent excursion with Austin Powers Tours which we booked once we got to port. We enjoyed this island tour which takes you to alot of the island and ends with a beach if you want to stay at the beach or it brings you back to the port area.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

4 out of 5
Simple port area that we have done in the past so we just stayed within the port area and went to the pool for the day and enjoyed the day.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was smooth and easy. Walked right off of the ship with no delays.
