Review summary

This was our first Halloween cruise but it did not disappoint. Great costumes and so much fun.

Embarkation

Embarkation was easy but not fast. We went through check in rather quickly but then we were ushered to a large seating zone to wait for more than one hour. My issue with this was that the ship had just repositioned and been empty for three days.

Food and Dining

The main dining was great! Servers were attentive and fun. We did dine in a specialty restaurant on the last evening and the steakhouse was incredible.

Onboard Activities

We enjoyed comedy, bands and the piano bar. We had previously been to the shows offered onboard so we skipped those.

Entertainment

We saw the exact shows pre Covid so no new entertainment.

Service and Staff

Our dining staff was phenomenal but our cabin steward was just ok.

The ship is a lot of fun by design and the shop was very clean.

Grand Turk Island

2 out of 5

Grand Turk was hit by a category 4 hurricane just weeks before we visited. The island was pretty devastated. We toured the island but it was kind of sad.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

I cannot say how much I enjoyed this port. We did an excursion to Fricolandia and it was worth every penny spent.

Can you tell me more about the fricolandia excursion? I booked it. Anything specific I should bring with us? Do they provide any drinks while going on the catamaran to the sand bar?

Great review. I would love to take a Halloween cruise. Sounds fun. Unfortunately for Grand Turk, it looked pretty rough before the hurricane. It’s a pretty poor island.
