This cruise was my first B2B and I really enjoyed it. It was very relaxing which is what I wanted. I am a counselor and these last few years have been very challenging. I love traveling solo. The Carnival Magic is still my favorite ship.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
The embarkation was easy however so many people did not adhere to their specific check-in time so there were a few issues.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The first leg of my cruise started Nov 28. I was on the ship for two weeks. I ate often in the MDR with Your Time Dining. It was very easy. You checked in on your phone (Carnival Hub App) and then they let you know when your table was ready. I only did the buffet on the Lido deck a few times mainly for breakfast with the omelet station. Guy's burgers were good as usual and Blue Iguana was ok. The coconut shrimp at the Red Frog Pub was excellent.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
I would mostly just find a corner and read a book around the pool area. I also watched movies under the stars, unfortunately, they charge for popcorn now. I went to the spa for a massage, manicure, and pedicure. This was a relaxing cruise for me, no stress, I actually read 8 books while on the ship for 2 weeks.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The show in the theater was the same shows that they have done for the last 3 or so years. However, the cast was excellent. They did a Christmas show on the last sea day and it was great. I didn't see much of the CD so I can't really comment on that.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The service on this cruise was excellent, my cabin steward was so helpful and very attentive. I travel solo so I don't make such a mess and he was always there to assist me. The wait staff in the Red Frog Pub were great, very personable, and never let your glass get empty. I had a variety of wait staff in the MDR and they were all very courteous. I didn't have to wait on food for a long time. The guest services staff were very helpful. There was a discrepancy on my account and they quickly cleared it up and even sent a fruit basket to my cabin.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was very clean, there was always someone cleaning, disinfecting, and handing out masks for you at any given time. I love the ship being decorated for Christmas, it was beautiful.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was just like any other inside cabin. I chose to keep the bed as twin beds so I felt like there was more open space. Like I said Adi was very attentive about my cabin.
Ship tip
Deck 11 it seemedf was taking over by smokers. They use to have just one side of the deck but people would smoke all over the place. Please I don't anything against smoking this is just my personal observation.
Just walked around Amber Cove, ate lunch, and got back on the ship. The last leg of the cruise we went to Aruba, Curacao and Amber Cove. Aruba is one of my favorite destinations, I had never been to Curacao but it is at the top of my list now.
