Review summary

This cruise was a much needed break. The crew was amazing. Our first Port was messed up due to the port authorities not letting us off at first and then allowing some passengers off. The passengers that were allowed to disembark at Amber Cove were not permitted to go to the beach and were subject to random "Covid breath tests" which I never knew was a thing. I stayed on the ship for both ports. The feedback on Amber Cove was they were hustled into the port gift shops. Bimini feedback was nothing open, nothing to do. Keep in mind this was not Carnivals fault. When the Amber Cove debarkation was delayed by several hours, crew were pulled back to work from their rest time to entertain us. Jose at Red Frog Pub was amazing. The whole crew really gave their all to make the passengers happy. I had a wonderful cruise despite the hiccups. I'd highly recommend the Magic.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Good Indian vegetarian meal in MDR which is my staple. Guy burger was great as was the Steakhouse. The Italian restaurant was very good especially the pasta lunch which is included.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Trivia was ok as was bingo. Comedy club was ok.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Amazing staff. Vasko and Nicola at Alchemy were great bartenders as was Made. Jose and Keisha at Red Frog Pub were also great. Room steward Mudi was good as well.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Walking through the smoky casino to get everything stinks literally. It's in the middle of the ship on deck 5. If you don't like smoke you have to bypass by going outside or down through deck 4. If you are allergic to smoke the hike is even more fun in a required mask. The smoke messes up the mask.

Cabin / Stateroom

Great value and this was my first balcony so I was super spoiled. Very clean and large enough. It was a Cove balcony. I'm used to the higher decks though and had to use the elevators on occasion which I try to avoid on cruises.

Ship tip

Don't sweat the small stuff.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Easy to park. Cheap hotels within 2 miles. Nothing around.
