Review summary

This was a 16 person family cruise. We all had a great time. The only complaint was the spa staff’s change in demeanor after you decline to buy their products, otherwise everything else was a great experience. Will be sailing again with Carnival in September on the Panorama.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Was the easiest embarkation we have ever had. We got to the port at 12:25 (our check in time was 12:30-1:00) and we were on the ship in 15 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was good in the buffet and the dining room. The buffalo shrimp at the Seafood Shack is fresh and delicious! We ate at the steakhouse and the Italian restaurant and both were excellent.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We participated in a few fun trivia games during the day.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We attended the Rock show and Flick in the main theater. The Rock show was very good and Flick was odd but the singing was good. The comedy was fun especially Mark Hawkins. The piano bar singer Scott was great. Simon the cruise director is so much fun.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our stateroom steward was Sabina, she was amazing! She works so hard and always has a smile on her face. Kept our room spotless. I had an amazing massage in the spa but once I declined to buy their products I was very rudely ushered out, for that reason I will never book another spa treatment on future cruises. All other workers were very pleasant.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship is kept very clean, always see someone cleaning and maintaining the ship. I loved the layout of deck 5. The plaza area was a nice place to hang out.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was an extended aft balcony on deck 7. Great size cabin and nice balcony. We enjoy viewing the wake of the ship from our lounge chair.

Ship tip

Check in to your cruise as soon as possible to get the earliest embarkation check in time because the buffet fills up quickly and it is impossible to get a seat.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
There is a nice walking area to the left of the port once you get off the ship that takes you all by the ocean to the fort. Very pretty walk.

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
Stayed at the Bahia Mar hotel which is right across the street from the beach and is only a few minutes ride to the port, it was a great place to stay pre-cruise.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

4 out of 5
Has a nice shopping area off the ship.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
I only shopped at the port but my husband and some family members took the catamaran snorkel tour and they loved it.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We had an early flight, they told us to be at the theater for 6:30am and we were off the ship 6:45. So easy it was great!

Experience the same with the spa

Buffet is a bad option for embarkation day. Head to the Italian for a peaceful and nice meal while the masses deal with the buffet
