Good, relaxing cruise. Could not complain, much better then being at work!
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Fairly easy even with an issue with the walkways not working.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was fine, nothing spectacular but good food and plenty of it. Ate the barbecue the afternoon we got on the ship and it was really good, especially the mac-n-cheese. The breakfast burritos were yummy and the Guys Burgers were a big hit with my kids. Also, the omelette station was a popular choice for us. And the ice cream any time was perfect. The best deserts were during the sit down dinner though not as good as expected. And the Chocolate Extravaganza was also good. Had a few drinks and they were OK, though very expensive as expected.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We were never bored. The slides were fun though busy. We did enjoy the putt-putt, game tables and the sky course. I liked the deck 5 sun areas as they were not busy. And I did get a massage that was very relaxing.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The shows were good, went to the laser light one and the final lip sync one. Loved that they had the camp kids on stage to perform.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
My 8 year old girl and 13 year old boy went to the camp ocean/teen club and had enjoyed spending lots of time there. Though my older 15 year old girl did not seem interested in her club.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Herman was a good steward for our cabin. For the most part, everyone was quite friendly and helped make the vacation relaxing and fun. Really enjoyed the dancing by the wait staff during the formal dinner!
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
It was clean and nothing to complain about. But also nothing spectacular to brag about.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
We did like our cabin even though on Deck 1 because it let all 5 of us stay in one room. And it was roomy enough though I have two kids that are almost 6 feet tall and my husband and I are not small. The beds were very comfortable and really liked having the two shower areas!!
Ship tip
Relax and don't get caught up in everything having to be perfect!
The port area was just OK for us though many liked it. Too many people. We rented a golf cart and explored the island. We went to Pillory Beach which was nice and quiet. Not much there but at least they had a little resort that had food and bathrooms available. The water was pretty but not quite like the Bahamas. Enjoyed going to the light house and driving around the island though can still see the scars from the hurricane several years ago.
Really like this port. Had a fun area right by the boat. Good shopping. We did a Van Your Way excursion for our family and thoroughly enjoyed it! We had Pedro as our tour guide and he took us to many different parts of the city. We had had enough sun so just visited the beaches but did not swim though the water looked beautiful. Went to a cigar shop, jewelry shop, Amber museum, city center, chocolate factory, baseball stadium and the more affluent part of town to see the houses. Ate at a good restaurant but nothing great. Great excursion!
