This is a good cruise if it's your first or second time cruising.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
It took a long time and there didn't seem to be a place where can have our luggage delivered to our room (we had to hang onto it while we waited for our room to be available!).
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
There was a pretty wide selection of food and offered at all hours of the day (the pizza was amazing). You won't run out of options and there's always something new to try.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The dance parties, trivia, and movie nights were nice. Miniature golf, basket ball court, water slides, and obstacle course didn't leave much to be desired. It would've been nice if it wasn't so hot and humid. There was always something to do (I loved happy hour, but only if you didn't leave the ship on days where it stopped).
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The shows were decent. I think the first couple of shows and the last one were the best.
Children's Programs
4 out of 5
My niece and nephew had a lot of fun at the kids club (under 17).
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff is amazing! They really do go out of their way to make you happy, especially the wait staff! At dining, Irawan and his team were fantastic and for our room, Carole was a complete sweetheart!
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship was nice. It was frustrating that you had to go to a different floor to go from one side of the ship to the other. The levels for the evening dining rooms and theater were at opposite ends of the ship and the only way to go from a show to our evening dining was to go back up to the floor of our room, walk all the way to the elevator at the other end of the ship to make it to dinner. You definitely get your steps in, but it was very confusing at first.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The main bed wasn't very comfortable (caused both my parents back pain). The couch that they just covered with bed sheets was hard and not very comfortable. We didn't make a big deal about it since there wasn't much we could do anyway.
Ship tip
Go see Wayne (the jewelry guy)! Attend the seminar to figure out how you can get a bunch of freebies.
The beach was so nice and the water was beautiful. It sucked that there wasn't much shade and no umbrellas were put up. The only place where they had a pop-up of sorts to offer shade was at the back of the beach and didn't allow airflow through, so if you were trying to relax and enjoy the breeze and scenery, you'd better have a fan (hand or batter) with you or you'll be miserable.
The water was meh, so we didn't stay there long. You have to visit the rum factory--interesting and tasty (it'll cost you $4/person, but kids are free). You might have better luck (and will save you money) if you find a taxi to take you and your family through the city for souvenirs, zip lining, beach (you have to pay for chairs and umbrella), and other attractions (it's what we did and it was nice having our own taxi waiting for us whenever we were done at a specific location--just use common sense and be safe).
