Review summary

We just got off the Magic this morning and we had a fantastic time!!  Could the shows have been better?,  yes, but Dr. E and the entertainment staff did a great job of keeping the vibe upbeat. The food overall was ok, Guy's Burgers were amazing!  We ate at Cucina Capitano for lunch once which was really good but we had it for dinner one night and that was the best meal we had on the ship!  You get a ton of food for the price and it's as good as any fine Italian restaurant I've eaten at.  The staff was top notch, our wait staff and room steward were the best we've had on any cruise. The balloon drop on the last night was a lot of fun. The only downside of the cruise for us was that we didn't have enough time on the ship itself,  I would like to do a 7 or 8 day with only 3 ports so that I have more time to relax or play on the ship.

We had a Cove balcony and we'll definitely get another in the future cause it was great being that close to the water

Ship tip

You can get a croissant with chocolate drizzled on it from the coffee shop before 9:30 AM. Take the stairs as much as possible cause the elevators are always crowded

Going this February 18th. does anyone know the cruise director schedule? I'm hoping we have Dr E. is there a site that lists their cruising dates? Tia.

You can eat at the Italian restaurant for free during lunch and no reservations. I agree it wouldn't be worth the extra money for dinner.

Thanks angiea

Lichy - yes you have to reserve for the Italian restaurant and the steak house. We did the Italian restaurant on our cruise and it was just ok to me. Not worth the extra money, I had the chicken parm and my chicken wasn't cooked the greatest. The setting was nice though. Dr E is the cruise director. He and his staff are really great. They are always trying to get the party going.

Sorry my cruise is on March 4 and I want to know who is Dr E, and if I have to reserve for cucina capitano?

Was on that cruise also! Dr. E was great. Did not eat at Cucino Capitano, but heard good things about it. My husband did not like to wait to eat his meals, so we did mostly buffet. Loved our steward for our suite on deck 7.

We are going on the Magic next May on an 8 day, with 3 sea days. Looking forward to it, as we are going to Grand Turks, San Juan, St Kitts and St Maarten. 2 sea days fall at the end of the cruise and 1 at the beginning.
