Review summary

My Favorite part was the shore excursions and the line dancing activities on the ship..I did not enjoy the food. What I did not like was Carnival would not give a full refund on my cruise due to the storm. They wanted me to drive hundreds of miles where there was a hurricane in progress: put my family in harms way, we did not have anywhere to stay because our hotel was canceled due to storm and power outage and every hotel/and or motel was booked or was charging outrageous rates to stay for a decision they could not guarantee. They did not know if the port would reopen or not...

The air was not working properly..and there was a loud bang coming from somewhere, so sleeping was in the best. Our steward Conrad was great.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.....😠 be thankful for what you have. Look at the devastation the islanders have to recover from. Stop being so,"whoa is me." The cruise lines don't control the weather. And if you couldn't find one thing on the ship that was delicious, you're just picky. They have everything under the sun to prepare on the ships.

Yea, but they could have delayed departure by one day and made it safe for all and given the staff time to recover.

Hurricane season is tough to deal with sometimes. We try to cruise in November but that can be a problem for some who have kids in school, because of missing fall break. The cruise lines are between a rock and a hard place, could you imagine canceling a cruise for 4000 people just to find out the storm has shifted in another direction? Or How about having 4000 on the ship and getting caught in a storm and killing everyone on board! It's not as cut and dry as you might think. Your not responsible for all those lives... Problems abound for everyone in a hurricane. life is too short, just make the best of what your given. It's Less stressful that way.

Thank you Michelle my thoughts exactly! Had they offered us the cancel we would have totally done so since we were traveling with a 2 yr old and an 8 yr old. We have done Oct for a few years an this was our first time having to deal with a hurricane. Just wish they'd have left out on Sunday and let folks know that on Wednesday or offered us the ch ace to cancel for a full refund

Smorgan341 our ship was not offered a chance to change the cruise dates... We could have filed on the insurance, but most of the other ships affected were given the option to cancel for a full refund. And as far as Hurricane season goes that's from June 1st till November. That's all summer... Nobody would ever cruise in the summertime if that were the case. This was my 4th October cruise and never had an issue before. I will continue to book in October. It's my favorite time of the year. I was thankful we were able to cruise, but I was driving and not flying. It made a big difference for us. I felt bad for the ones flying... It was a rat race for them!

I was watching the path of that hurricane for a few weeks before it hit. When you got on the boat, different models were projecting different routes. They did not know the direct path it would take. And I could have sworn that I read that people were emailed with the option of rescheduling for those who got on the following week. My recommendation is not to cruise during hurricane season if you are not prepared for uncertainty.

Well those with insurance are having a hard time getting their money back too! People in my group had insurance and are having to jump through all kinds of hoops.

Did you call guest care since your return?

They should have delayed it until Sunday and I think everything would have been better.

We had to then checkout of our hotel not knowing if the cruise would go on and our rental car was due back at noon. After the decision was made the port was insanity and we were not allowed to Board the ship until 7p and were told no dinner in the dinning rooms that everyone had to eat lido. We ended up really losing a day as we didn't get on until 7p and we didn't even leave until 11:15p.

I couldn't agree with you more as we were on the same cruise. Our flights were canceled twice had to fly into a different airport (Tampa) rent a car ended up finding a place in Orlando that day because the damage wasn't as bad as they expected so locals were going home. Our original hotel was canceled due to mandatory evacuations of their area which lost power.

I was on that cruise as well. I'm glad we were able to go, but it was very stressful waiting to see what was going to happen. I agree they should have gave us the opportunity to change our cruise if we so desired. We didn't even know until 1:00 on embarkation day if we were even going to be able to sail or not.
