Review summary
This cruise was a quick getaway for my wife and myself to recharge and spend some much needed time together without our child. We enjoyed the steakhouse all three nights and loved not having a schedule. Our cruises have always been 7 days or so and this short cruise was out of the ordinary for us but I would do it again if I got a good deal on rates. Their were two minor dislikes: there was a strong smell of marijuana that came and went several times on our floor. We didn’t care for that and I have to wonder why it’s so easy to get it onboard. Also, this time of year the temperatures will obviously be scorching and we anticipated that. What I did not anticipate would be the lack of sea breeze because on our sea day the ship dropped anchor and sat a few miles of the coast of Florida the whole day. I did not realize how miserable it would be on the top decks without a breeze blowing but it was dangerously hot. I assume keeping the ship stationary is a cost saving measure on the part of Carnival, but it certainly did not enhance our experience.Embarkation

Ship tip
I was surprised how many people sailed without passports on this trip, and that became evident at debarkation. I’m not judging, but the passport line sailed out the door at lightning speed while those without lingered in a line that stretched through the terminal almost without end. That group looked so discouraged and I’m sure a few were inspired to get passports after that experience.
