Review summary

Overall we had fun. The ocean was mesmerizing and the Bahamas were beautiful. I would recommend this for older kids and our adults, but it was difficult with a toddler as do much had age restrictions and we couldn’t even take her to the pool in a swim diaper because they can’t go in if they’re not potty trained. I wish I could have seen more of the history of the islands but everything is so rushed, plus having a toddler made it to where we couldn’t enjoy the full experience. I also feel like the waitstaff were confused about the bottomless bubbles and it was really hard to get a high chair (no matter where we dined). I would have loved more family-friendly activities as there was pretty much nothing for us to do as a family.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
It was fast, but by the time we arrived (12pm) we were informed it was useless that we bought the Faster to the Fun because “everyone was onboard already”. Also, I swear, our tickets were checked SEVEN times before we even reached the gangway. There has to be a more efficient way.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was really good. But, we bought the Unlimited Bubbles package for all of us and it was VERY difficult to find someone to gets us our drinks in the buffet area, and it took forever in the main dining area. And every night we asked for Apple juice for our toddler and we would seriously be on dessert by the time it arrived. It was also VERY hard to get a high chair for her. We would ask all three of our assigned waiters and it would take one of the managers coming by to check on tables before one would arrive.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
There was almost absolutely nothing we could do onboard as a family. There were only two events I saw geared towards her age and one of them (the turtle crawl) was cancelled because “there weren’t enough kids”… but there were five kids there, including her?

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Other than that, we couldn’t even go do any shows because they were either extremely loud (it was absurd how loud, my watch clocked it at over 90 decibels!) or it was 18+ only.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
There was nothing for her really (she is 20 months old, so not quite two years old.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our Steward was a great guy (Rozaq). The first 2 nights our waitstaff was not receptive to using our Bottomless Bubbles (drinks took forever) nor were they fast about getting a high chair. It was pretty delayed. Also, we did teatime the last day and our whole table was passed over for snacks so much that we all had to say something. also, nothing said they charged extra for the tea. (It’s only part of the alcoholic package apparently)

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Overall it was clean but very dated and rusty in a lot of parts.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I loved our cabin. The only thing I will never do again is have a cabin above the casino and nightclubs. It was hard to sleep when the bass was coming up through the mattress…

Ship tip

If you have a child younger than five, there’s not anything for them to do. Which makes it difficult as a parent to do anything. But if it’s just adults on your trip, you’ll have a great time.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Very packed, plenty to spend money on just walking around. We thought about doing an excursion, but couldn’t since we had a toddler.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
Just a beach party island really. The lunch buffet was hamburgers and hotdogs. There were a ton of flies.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
This was the best part about faster to the fun. We were out of there very fast. And on the road by like 8:30 AM where is everyone else was still on the ship.

Try Disney next time. I'm sure they cater much more to the kids.

Try Disney cruises. Your child will be thrilled. And always book a stateroom with other staterooms above and below yours.
