Review summary
So I just returned from another Carnival Cruise on the Liberty this time. Embarkation was a breeze as they used the new parking garage and terminal. It was $68 to park and you pay ahead which is great. I parked on the 3rd Floor so I could walk straight across to the bridge to the terminal. And of course, once you get on board, head on over to your muster station and get it out of the way. They scan your card and show you how to wear a life jacket. From there I went and grabbed the new Funderstruck Nacho Burger from Guy's Burger Joint. Around 1:30 PM I went and checked out my room and dropped off my bags. My Nenga my room steward, he was awesome. I was in 7221 with a balcony (Forward-Starboard). These rooms are older and show it but they are functional. The lighting is the old fluorescent which makes everything yellow looking and the curtain is an older heavy one with either burns or tears on the backside. When you closed the curtain you could see the wear and tear. The A/C vent had not been dusted in a while and didn't really blow too cold. I went and ventured around to acclimate myself to wear everything was and headed up to the Lido Deck for the shot glass exchange and sail away party with Dustin our Cruise Director and Lindy Legend the DJ. Later on I went and checked out the casino. I did go check out one of the meetups at Alchemy and then headed over to the Cabinet for karaoke. Elaine from FunSquad was the host. The sound equipment in the Cabinet Lounge was good quality but worn. I signed up for late dining and was at Table 555 in the Silver Olympian Aft Dining Room. Our server was Joel and he was good but didn't really make a big impression like on other ships. Food was great as always, I had the Fried Calamari for the appetizer, Braised Beef Brisket for dinner and the Melting Chocolate Cake for dessert. I met a great couple on the ship and went to late comedy show with them. Saturday morning we were cruising into Nassau. I was here in February and ventured around. This time I relaxed on the ship, gym, sauna, steam room, hot tub and sundeck. I went on shore part way through the day and went to Bahamian Cookin' Restaurant and Bar. I came here last time for their conch fritters and ordered them again. Traffic was not as crazy as last time and they had a big display for Sidney Poitier who passed in January. They had his funeral on June 19th at St Francis Xavier and was having a cultural show in tribute at the Atlantis Convention Center. Saturday night I went and checked out both showings of "Flick." This is a cool show with a movie themed production. Really cool stage production. Went and grabbed dinner, I had the Blackened Pork Tart for my appetizer, Broiled Striploin Steak for dinner and the Coffee Cream Cake for dessert. I returned for the second show and then headed up to the Lido Deck with DJ Lindy Legend for the MegaDeck Party. Afterwards, DJ Lindy Legend was spinning in the Hot & Cool Nightclub. Sunday morning woke up, went and had breakfast before the Debarkation Talk with Dustin. I went and played in the casino most of the day and was up and then down, smh... I went to my room to chill out and Dustin had sent a Thank You gift to my room. That was the best feeling, I love making connections with Entertainment because that is my background. Later on I went to check out the America Rocks! show and that was great. Brogan, he is a powerhouse. His vocals are on point and even though it was two of their last shows before vacation he did not show any signs of slowing down. Brogan, Lizzie, John, Harold, Elias and David, you all did a great job. Looking forward to seeing you all again in the future. I received a Eureka came over and offered me a dinner and drink for all the points I racked up. I ordered the Red Sangria for my drink, Étouffée of Langoustine for my appetizer, Broiled Filet Mignon with the Baked Alaska for dessert. I was good and headed to bed early for the early debarkation. Monday morning, got up, showered and went to breakfast. Afterwards I went and said my goodbyes and grabbed my luggage. I am truly going to miss the FunSquad as they are being shuffled around. Lindy Legend, what a great time, thank you so much for your friendship, I can not wait to come see you on Legend. Elaine, Manu, Sean, MaKayKay (Makayla) and Shay Shay, you are a true FunSquad. You are all amazing at your job and made this cruise fun. Lyn, you have a great team and am sad to see most of them moved around to other ships. Keep up the great work and welcome to Carnival. Dustin, what can I say besides THANK YOU. You definitely made this cruise for me. I am so glad to have met you and was able to connect with you. You are a great person and you have a big future ahead of you with Carnival. I can not wait to see you again in September. Big Hugs and Welcome Back from vacation.Embarkation
