Review summary

Since it was such an inexpensive cruise, I wasn't surprised that the boat felt old; however, the food was spectacular enough to make up for it! Our rooms were dated but very clean. Nassau was prettier, cleaner, and safer-feeling than Freeport.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Paid extra to skip the line -- TOTALLY worth it!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room was FANTABULOUS, tacos and hamburgers and pizza and ice cream were DELICIOUS, buffet was fine.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pools were small and crowded and the water slide was pretty marginal but both were still alright. Movie night on the Lido Deck was loads of fun. All-You-Can-Eat Ice Cream was our FAVORITE! Casino was so smokey it ruined the Promenade Deck.

Entertainment

We didn't go to anything.

Children's Programs

We didn't participate

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
TOP NOTCH! Couldn't believe they new our names when we saw them in the hallway!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Boat was clean and tidy but very tired -- like a 1998 Las Vegas Hotel: cool once upon a time but outdated now.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I worried our interior stateroom would be uncomfortably tight for the four of us but it was great! So much so that we spent much of our free time there!

Ship tip

Pay for a Faster To the Fun pass -- its absolutely worth the extra a$70!

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5
Took a short Helicopter Ride with Cocoa Beach Helicopters -- BEST MONEY SPENT ALL TRIP!

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Clean, friendly and fun. Paid for an "excursion" to Balmoral Island -- SO SO SO GLAD we did! Twas secluded and quiet and beautiful -- just like a Bahamian Beach should be!

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

4 out of 5
I was impressed with how quickly the town cleaned up Hurricane Dorian's damage. Still, it was a strange port -- it felt like a shipping yard, not a tourist area. And, the beaches were less "tropical" than I expected. I'm glad I could visit it once, but I wouldn't go back again.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Customs was a long pain but that's not the ship's fault.

(Freeport) The Grand Lucayan, lighthouse area 20+ mins away was just absolutely gorgeous when we went before, 1.5-2 years ago. I saw pics of the beach around the lighthouse. 💔 The people were great! I hope they are ok, and can’t wait to go back. The Liberty, 2.5 years ago, was our least favorite of all of Carnival ships we have been on. Not really sure why. Maybe the vibe and the rush; 4 day cruise w/ one sea day, and two ports. Everyone, including us, seemed tired; low energy. We enjoyed the Elation and the Fantasy, so it wasn’t the size or the age for us 🤷🏻‍♀️
