Review summary

Normally we take a 7 or 8 day cruise about every year and a half. But in February we decided not to hold out for May of 2020 and booked this short 4 night cruise to get our "Cruise Fix". Glad we did; we loved the ship just like we liked her sister ship the Conquest in 2017. Also we had not been to Nassau for about 7 years or to Freeport in 10+ years so there were changes to see. Our weather was Perfect, our fellow travelers were a nice mixture of ages & nationalities, the food was plentiful & good; Plus the comedians were great.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was good in all the venue's. We ate breakfast & lunch in the Lido area. Dinner was always in the MDR using 'Your Time Dining' .

Golden Olympian Restaurant

5 out of 5

Decorated nicely with room between the 2-top tables.Service was good and noise did not seem to be a problem.

Guy's Burger Joint

4 out of 5

Ate from here 1 time on this trip. The burgers were sitting on a tray waiting for a customer to come by, therefore not a hot burger. At least it was not greasy like on the last ship we took. The fries were also lukewarm but tasted good.

Victoria Aft Lounge

5 out of 5

Seating was comfortable with mostly good views of the stage.Room is large enough for most of the comedy shows. Bar service was quick .

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The Versailles Pool on deck 9 was a perfect place to relax. It is kept to ages 18+, which made it very nice. There are also 2 Hot Tubs if you want .

Versailles Pool

5 out of 5

Pool area is for 18+ guests and it's enforced by staff at all times. Found this to be a bonus as on other ships they let kids in even when posted as 18+. Pool bar was staffed to handle the crowds and area by pool was mopped often to prevent slipping. Only drawback was the music came out from the speakers very loud at times.

The Garden Atrium

5 out of 5

Lovely area to stay in and visit with friends [plenty of seats]Chamber music played here is beautiful to listen to. The color changing Light Chandelier is fascinating to watch.

The Fun Shops

3 out of 5

These are mostly a waste of space. Walk though them once and that's enough for the whole trip.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Didn't see any stage shows . We did go to the Love and Marriage show which was funny but dragged on too long. Loved the Comedy Club Adult shows [ 2 per night ]

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was good all over the ship. Our room steward was very funny and friendly. We liked the wait staff we had the 1st night in the Golden Olympian dining room and requested them all 4 nights.

Ship Quality

Loved the ship. It's not too large and the common areas are a nice size. Decor is well done and we loved the Chandelier in the Garden Atrium which changes colors constantly.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin is 220 sq. ft which is quite livable for 2 people. Large square window with a deep ledge for saving all the towel animals. Our only complaint would be that the mattress did not stay on the bed frame - we had to keep pulling it back onto the frame. [haven't had this problem before]

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
This is where we board so no tours taken; but since we live close by I can tell you it's a nice place to visit.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
"Ardastra Gardens, Zoo & Conservation Centre" in Nassau is a small zoo known mostly for their Marching Flamingos and South Pacific Lory Parrots which you can hand-feed. The Flamingos put on a show and as part of it volunteers can 'dance' with the birds [which I did ! ] It was so much fun to be up-close to these beautiful birds. We did this on our own - not a tour then went back to town for some shopping and a Cold Beer.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

5 out of 5
The ship offered a Brewery, City & Downtown excursion with a stop at the Perfume Factory to see the process of making perfumes. You can learn alot on this tour and there is some shopping time then off to the Sands Brewery for a quick overview of how a brewery works; then on to the Tasting Room ! The driver 'Tiny' is an informative guide and I enjoyed the bus ride around the island.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
This was the quickest and easiest disembarkation I have ever had.
