Review summary

The Liberty was an older ship, a little dated, but they were doing maintenance while we were on board. This was our first cruise with young children 8 and 11. The kids activities were not that great. Our kids didn’t really do much, other than swim and eat free ice cream. As our first cruise it was good, but now we know to look for more kid activities so they are not as bored. Overall fun and enjoyed the trip.

Other than Disney (which can be several times the price) Carnival seems to have the best kids program. Obviously some staff are better than others and some groups of kids are funner than others. When my kids were young we would often have to force them to go to kids club the first couple days then usually we couldn't keep them away. It can take a while to feel comfortable but if they don't go they have no idea if it is fun or not.

You should do Disney cruises as they are geared towards kids.
