Review summary

We had some really great times on this trip. I we also had some really stressful times as well. Carnival seems to have a real disconnect between what you pay for online and what they bill you for when you get on the ship. We kept constantly getting billed for things that I had already paid for before we even got onto the ship. There are also lots of outrageously High gratuities added to our building we had no idea or even being put on. Like a $50 gratuity for the buffet. Not one person help isn't anything in the buffet I cleaned up my own table and I even threw my own garbage away and put my own plates back up on the counter. Why they should get $50 is completely Beyond me and why they were just simply charge that to your room without telling you it all is beyond me. We did end up getting all of that removed and our bill fixed but we spent a couple of hours doing that. A couple of hours taken from our vacation stressed out trying to figure out where all of our money went. Overall I think Carnival is pretty much bottom-of-the-barrel budget Cruise Line and next time I'll definitely be using a much higher caliber Cruise Line. I would like to mention that all of the wait staff, all of the bartenders, all of the housekeeping staff and most of the rest of the staff were absolutely wonderful. The only staff that I did not enjoy was the spa staff. As soon as my massage was finished I got a high pressure sales routine and when I said I didn't want to buy something they pressured me even more. It made me completely uncomfortable and pretty much ruined the message. This was my first cruise but it's definitely my last cruise on Carnival.

The safety briefing was terrible and took way to long.

$50 was likely charge for the Steak House. He is obviously confused.

Never been charged $50 for buffet. I've cruised Carnival many times and have never encountered a "bottom of the barrel" cruise. When I go to the spa, I tell them up front I'm not buying anything and they have always respected that and have never had a bad experience. I watch my billing and know what I've prepaid and what I haven't and have not ever been charged for something I've prepaid. I always prepay for as much as I can. Are you sure you actually went on a Carnival cruise?

How do they know who even ate at the buffet. You never show your card or give your cabin number like in the dining room or st the bar

I was on this sailing. I did not prepay my gratuities online. Nor did I get charged $50 for buffet gratuities. Even if I did, the staff deserves that money. They work so hard so that you can have a great time & if you can't handle $50 going to the people that made your vacation amazing then don't cruise.

Carnival is bottom of the barrel? How many "VIRTUAL" cruises have you been on?

I've never heard of that charge it seems to me that you're referring to the gratuities for The State Room

Same here. Never! And, you can’t really clean your own table. We’ve tried. There is no trash can either, just the bins they collect the dishes in.

This review makes no sense. Just got off Liberty, everyone was joking how fast the elevators were, they open, close quick. There had never been a $50 buffet charge and you carry around cleaning materials to wipe your cooties off of every table you eat at? I think not.

Did you pre pay gratuities online and then they charge extra for buffet?
