This was my first and last cruise. I was very excited as tons of people told me how wonderful it would be. I was greatly disappointed.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
I was very glad that i purchased the faster to the fun instead of waiting in the very long line for regular embarkation.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
I was very disappointed in the food selection and temperature. The food was never hot only room temp or lukewarm. Additionally you could tell they took the time to warm the plate but not the actual food.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Coney Island Pool
1 out of 5
The pools were always overcrowded. Additionally there is no adults only pool. and even the whirlpool/hot tub had tons of kids in it.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
the music nights with the cast were very nice and one of the very few highlights of my trip
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff were all very pleasant and very hard working
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
As a first time cruiser i was very disappointed with the lack of signage. also all the elevators are the exact same color and design so it is hard to tell them apart. The windows in the buffet and on the balcony were not clean at all. we couldnt even enjoy the balcony the windows were so dirty. there were tons of rust spots on pipes that looked like they were prepared very shoddily.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
There were pieces of paper stuck to the ceiling from the time we checked in until we left. the balcony windows were very dirty and you can tell were not cleaned in quite some time
This port was horrible and i did not feel safe. my rating is for the excursion. the resort was very nice and the perfect place after the horror of the actual port
Please do not judge cruising by this bad experience, I have had some WONDERFUL cruises while a couple not so hot. My first Carnival cruise on the Victory not so great, I will be curious to see how the Liberty is since this is our "ok lets give Carnival one more try cruise"...we have had wonderful experiences on Disney and NCL, so please do not let this make you not cruise again, every ship and every company is different.
Did you even look at the deck maps prior to your cruise to get a feel where everything is? Also, outside of every elevator is a sign saying what deck your on.. not to mention if your forward or aft.... these ships are VERY easy to navigate if you take 2 minutes to look and use some common sense. Lol
As for "dirty" windows... umm.. thats call sea salt. You can clean them, and if its windy one day they will be salt stained in a couple hrs. Ita takes an entire day for them to clean all the exterior windows, so they cant do it daily. Lol
Yep... definitely cruising is not for you. Lol
Cabin stewards are exceptionally busy, it would have been courteous of you to point out a discrepancy for he/she to fix. There are many Carnival shuttles, not just one, and they keep delivering folks until the last one is scratched off of their list. (People don’t get left behind). You wanted color coded elevators and signs to guide you around the ship? Honestly, it seemed like you were looking for reasons to be disappointed...
