Review summary

I really enjoyed my first cruise. There were a lot of people on board; the only times this bothered me was when we were trying to disembark.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The port was easy to drive through; traffic was directed by employees. Parking deck was easy to access. The lines moved fairly quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We ate in the main dining room every night. The service was fabulous. The food was very good.

Pizzeria

4 out of 5

Fast and quite tasty!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Fitness center was bigger and better equipped than I had imagined.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The groups that played in the atrium were very good. We watched performances before and after dinner each night.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Our daughter had been reluctant to attend the children’s club; however, she really enjoyed her time there and wished she had attended more days of the cruise.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The best thing about the cruise was the excellent service of the staff. The dining staff were very attentive. Our stateroom was tidied and cleaned regularly. The decks, stairways and hallways were kept very clean and tidy considering the large number of passengers.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Common areas were kept clean and well maintained. I liked the layout and design. Would have enjoyed a few more outdoor outlets- climbing wall, sky ride- that are on come Carnival ships.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room was larger than I had expected. There was enough storage space for our clothes and toiletries. We were not tripping over each other. Loved the balcony view; don’t think I could cruise without one now. Cabin was very clean; loved the daily cleanup and tidying done by the staff. My daughter couldn’t wait to see what towel creature would be awaiting her each day.

Ship tip

Do book at least 6th deck and up. Some days there were some funky smells in the hallways on the lower cabin decks.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Easy to get in and out .

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
I think I could enjoy this more if we’d explored more. We did a snorkeling excursion that got off to a slow start, then didn’t have time to explore anything else.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
We snorkeled the length of the beach and ate lunch. Food was good, but flies were bad while we ate. Wish there were maps so you could explore island more on your own. I guess I should have downloaded maps before leaving home.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
It was a little confusing because the house staff showed up at 7:30 a.m. to clean our room. Our deck wasn’t called to disembark until 8:30 a.m. so we sat out in a hallway waiting to be called. We were carrying our own luggage.
