HORRIBLE! 1st cruise and I regret going with Carnival.

Embarkation

The worker that was working security delivered horrible customer service & lost the card through security that told us what group we were going to embark with. Because of his mistake, we had to wait in line FOREVER to get into another Embarkation Group.

Food and Dining

The buffet food was substandard. The specialty restaurants were good & I would highly recommend the Steakhouse.

Onboard Activities

I was expecting lots of activities on the ship. The comedians were horrible and there really wasn't much going on. The pools/hot tub closed around midnight. There weren't any activities during the day. I was surprised because Carnival is known as the "Fun ship".

The DJ and the performers were good except the comedians.

They all hate their job. Nobody smiles. The customer service was HORRIBLE. The waiter was rude, the bartenders are rude. Nanander at the Pizza Bar was good but everyone else was awful. DONT PREPAY YOUR GRATUITIES!!

We were on the 2nd floor and the WHOLE floor smelled like sewage. It was disgusting and embarrassing.

I got stopped getting off the ship for my card being "flagged". I had to step out of the line to go to guest services and they said that there was a spa charge. Finally got it resolved and they removed it but, it was embarrassing and unnecessary.

Yes! I smelled so much sewage while on the Liberty on deck 2! Also, to the person above not everyone’s experience is the same. This person seemed to have a bad experience, maybe this cruise wasn’t their type!

Carnival are fun ships, been on many. You're viewing everything as a WHOLE, (Crew, food activities), If you don't like food in one spot, there are Many more to choose from. So you think ALL CREW hate their jobs and are rude? I find that hard to believe. They do not pick you out of a line to pay a charge, they will just bill your card besides, if you check you charges everyday on your TV, you wouldn't have ANY surprises. The ships have many activities throughout the day and night! Sorry about the sewage issues. Cruising isn't for everyone and you make it how you want it to be. So you have ONE bad experience on Carnival, so you will never use Carnival again, just shows your character. Not all ships are the same.

Trishwawasee - just because you were disappointed you should still give a true review that rings true and makes sense. I am sorry you had a terrible time - truly I am. Maybe cruising is not for you - hell, maybe it's not for me either. But, I'm going with an open mind.

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion and this is mine. I didn't want or need "free" anything. I paid for everything upfront and I bought the drink package. You are free to book with anyone. I read tons of reviews before booking and so I chanced it and booked anyways. It smelled like sewage, I was on the ship 4 days. I'm not debating MY own review. Feel free to post your own review if you don't agree. I had EVERY intention of enjoying this vacation. Tons of planning on my end so, it's frustrating that everything was a disappointment. I'll definitely cruise again just not with Carnival

I was on this cruise too....granted they have cut back on services ,but it was all good...as far as being 3 deep at the pool bar....there are a kazillion others with no wait....we skipped Nassau because it was dangerous to go in. went on to princess cay and did Nassau on the way back.. no worries there. there were a few food items that left me wondering who's mi do g the kitchen,but geesh with all the meals they prepare it was fine. there was plenty to do and not to do...as they say your cruise is what you make of it. oh,and the seas were very rocky😊

I truly detest reviews like this. If this ship was as bad as stated here, there would be zero repeat cruisers on liberty. As far as I've read, most people who have sailed on liberty, would gladly do so again. To say there were no activities on-board is doubtful and ridiculous. To say deck 2 smelt like sewage is ridiculous - the health department would pull the ship out pof commission. Take this review with a grain of salt folks.

I have to agree Carnival has had so many cut backs and it really shows! We were on the Liberty last week and were not impressed at all food was horrible bar service was a joke there were people waiting three deep at the pool bar everyday and only three bartenders!! Time to try Royal Caribbean I guess!!

Great cruise with my family

We had a great trip. It was the fifth cruise we did but the first short one (4 days). Would do it again.

We took the Carnival Liberty cruise again for my birthday like we did last year.
