Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was amazing. The main dining room staff was wonderful with us and our 4 yr old son. We were able try new things and enjoy old favorites and they never hesitated to bring us something different if we didn't like what we ordered.

BlueIguana Cantina

5 out of 5

We had breakfast burritos here almost every morning. They were great and you can have it built however you want.

Guy's Burger Joint

5 out of 5

Great burgers and fries. Don't be afraid to ask for two or just an extra plate of fries.

RedFrog Rum Bar

5 out of 5

Bar tenders were very good, they had amazing personalities. They were also great about recommending drink specials and deals.

Diamonds Steakhouse

Very nice restaurant with a classy atmosphere.

Golden Olympian Restaurant

Wonderful. Wait staff was very good, they always remembered our names. Service was prompt and the food was amazing.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Lots of pools but they were a little chilly. I know its not something carnival could fix. The movie selections were good and lots of fun things to do on the ship.

Czar's Palace Casino

5 out of 5

Didn't win but was still fun. They had slot tournaments and other fun events.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Cookie was lots of fun and a great cruise director. The shows were good and entertaining.

Venetian Palace Main Lounge

5 out of 5

Flick the show was good, very nostalgic hearing all the songs from great movies.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Seuss at sea was great. The kids had a great time with the parade and story time.

Camp Ocean

5 out of 5

I cannot say enough good things about camp ocean. They were truly amazing. Our son was always asking to "kids club" to play and see the counselors. It helped us enjoy our cruise and the adult activities so much more than we ever thought we would be able to. If you have concerns they answer all your questions and you can stop by anytime and check on your child.

Cabin / Stateroom

Great view. Quiet location. The only thing we heard was in the middle of the day they were remodeling the fun shops and we could hear a little of the construction from the floor below us, it was brief and a special circumstance since they were in the middle of a remodel. We had the room set up with one king bed, the couch setup as a bed the the upper pullman down. There was 4 of us in the room and it wasn't all that cramped. If we were all up and moving around it was tight but usually someone was sitting or out on the balcony which gave us plenty of room. The closets gave ample storage space. We brought our stroller with us for our child and when we weren't using it we stored it in the shower out of the way.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

beach was nice, hotels could use some renovations.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

Beach was beautiful. Excursion was ok. Had about a 20min bus ride each way from the port to the beach. The music was a little annoying at the beach. They had reggae music blaring the whole time. The island seemed a little run down.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
The fort and water tower were great. We pushed through all the cabbies and tour guides trying to get us to take there tours and just walked. We headed up to the fort then down back towards junkanoo beach and did some shopping along the way. Junkanoo beach was good, busy but what else can you expect for a free beach. We ended up grabbing a cab on the way back for $10 for 4 people with a stroller in a van it was very reasonable.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Quick and painless. Only down side was how early we had to be up and off the ship. Had to be out of the room by 8am.

Freeport was to industrial and it wasn't easy to get to a town or anything historic to do some sight seeing, we felt like our only option was to do a beach excursion and there isn't much reason to go back. Also it looks kinda run down when your driving. Houses falling apart and barbed wire topped fences around the ones that aren't. Nassau was good, and we wouldn't mind going back but there just wasn't the wow factor. The free beach was a little dirty, not horrible but they could definitely take a few dollars and clean it up. And most of the shops all had the same touristy junk. Don't get me wrong both places are good and we had fun they just didn't seem to be the tropical paradises that were advertised. Also there is a lot we didn't see and do so maybe we just did the wrong things.
