Carnival Liberty was a great surprise. We got a lot more than we expected. Totally designed to cater to families, but there are great spots to be secluded from the kids in the “serenity zones” (no kids allowed). Perfect places to be an adult when you drop the kids off at camp. Tons of fun on board during the day, and incredible night time fun in the dance clubs, theaters, comedy spots. Food and entertainment is excellent. Highly recommended for anyone looking to recharge.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Easy. Everything we needed to get on board was there, the embarkation party was incredible.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Food was excellent. The main dining experience was great every night. The maitredee helped us one night to get an earlier seating as we wanted to see an earlier show. Variety on this ship was superb. From sushi, seschewan, guys burgers, burritos, tacos, artistically beautiful buffets....every single day.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There were a ton of great things to do, and with a 9 year old it’s hard to balance what you all want to do. One thing we all agreed on was the ship wide scavenger hunt, which we ended up winning was probably the coolest thing we did as a family on board. Totally hilarious and really got our family together.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Great shows. Talented musicians, maybe the best cruise director I’ve ever seen. If you get cookie, you’re in for a treat.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
My daughter went to the Sharks camp a few times. Each time we left her for a few hours. We felt comfortable doing so. The “counselors” are all certified, most of them in education as a career. My daughter enjoyed herself each time she was there.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Each and every one of them were outstanding. All friendly, all loved doing what they do. Each one remembered our names. The waiter had my wine waiting for me without fail. Been on a few cruises, this, in my opinion, is maybe the most important part. You want to feel pampered, like you are the most important person to them. This staff did that.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
One gripe about this cruise was that in order to get to the piano lounge or the arcade or the comedy lounge we had to walk through the casino and smoker section. Really not a big deal, but my wife is sensitive to smoke. There are alternatives to walking to these areas, but it is an easier and more direct walk through this area. It wouldn’t stop me from coming again. The design was nice, the entire ship was well maintained. New gift shops just opened during our sea day. Absolutely beautiful stuff.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
It was an inside stateroom. It is adequate. My daughter stayed in the pullout from the ceiling. To a 9 year old, that may have been the coolest place ever to sleep. Room was clean, shower was hot. If your worried about the size of your room, you’re probably in there too much. Get out and have fun.
Ship tip
There’s a ton to do. Take the itinerary and choose the things you’d like to, use the Carnival Hub App. It will let you know about 15 minutes in advance that your next activity is coming up so you don’t miss anything...
Great town. I always love going to the straw market. I get to haggle prices for gifts. Didn’t hit Atlantis as it was very windy on this port of call. But it is a must do.
