Great for first timers or those on a budget, but for more experienced cruisers, or if you've been on newer ships like the Oasis or anything near that, temper your expectations. If it's more about the company of the people you are going to be with than the ship, then it's probably fine.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
After checking in, we sat in a large room for nearly an hour. Boarding began late as well. Haven't had an experience like that in many years, but we don't usually sail on Carnival.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The Lido café area was way over crowded and Carnival still uses the outdated buffet lines instead of the pods that other lines have evolved into using. Dining room experience for dinner was ok though.

Entertainment

The Piano bar was funny. The sleepy guitar musician by the casino wasn't appreciated later in the evening when you're looking for something more lively.
Children's Programs
Did not travel with children.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Staff was great. Oddly though, the room steward never approached us to say hi or ask if we needed anything? The cruise Director was annoying, but then I've only come across a few over the years that weren't.
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
The ship was clean, but I rated it this way because Carnival's ship design hasn't changed over all these years. They haven't kept up with the competition.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Interior room, very cramped, but clean. Decent sized bathroom and shower. Only one power outlet - Another example of how Carnival hasn't evolved with the times.
The ports of call weren't the reason for this cruise. We just wanted a 4 day party cruise and that's why we went on it. Went over to Margaritaville, which wasn't bad.
For some reason, it seemed to take forever and didn't seem as organized as other lines. We've been on 19 cruises now and I just don't remember waiting as long as we did, plus the people walking off with their luggage usually walk off first and aren't mixed in with the rest like they were on this cruise. There was really no benefit for them to choose that option?
