Review summary

PORTS:

Freeport was a dump.  I would not recommend it to anyone.  Nassau was the same.  We took in a segway tour which was fun.  Went to the Market and had some fun there as well.  Other than that, the cruise was nothing to write home about. I gave two stars just because of Nassau. Otherwise it would have been negative stars. Freeport is still recovering from past hurricanes and a lot of the tourism areas have not recovered.

THE SHIP:
The ship was nice, but the kids (ages 8 to 15) were a handful to deal with.  There should be a rule, 15 and under accompanied by an adult that are outside of the children camps. I came on this cruise with my wife and left our 3 at home to have kids free time (from our kids and to let our hair down).  Well that backfired.  I have never seen such misbehaved children in all my life. They were running out of control all over the ship, bumping into people, cutting in lines, making messes at the ice cream stations, and taking soooo much food that they never consumed. They hung out at the pizzeria and ONLY ice cream station (more to come on that) opened after 9 PM until 1 or 2 in the morning running around wreaking havoc in that area.

Not sure why Carnival feels (with 2,000 people aboard) they need to close the all the ice cream stations but one in the back of the ship with the only eatery place (Pizza).  This is magnet for teenagers.  Why not in the ADULT only area have an Ice Cream machine, or open others up to keep the magnitude of kids from hanging around there and forming lines.  They take all the seats in the area, then they will get back up and get another.

While walking around the at 11PM, two youts (love my Cousin Vinny), two 13/14 year olds were walking in front of my wife and I they dropped their ice creams on the floor and proceeds to tip over chairs as they walked...  When they realized we were behind, they took of running and laughing.

Carnival should issue child restraints as guest get on as a way to remind them to patrol children as it is not CARNIVALS job to babysit for you dumb parents that want to party all night and allow your kids to roam free on the ship.  Leave you kids home next time if you cannot keep an eye on them.  Maybe carnival should have a curfew for kids???  Just Saying, not a fun trip, will not come back because of this.

SHOWS:

Even though the juggler was really good, you cannot remove the shows from the ships and think people will be entertained with a one man show. If this is Carnivals way of saving a few dollars, we will go to other ships from now on as well really enjoy the cruise shows.

The comedians, man, where do you start...  Both of these guys were a complete success and really good at what they do.  I wish I could remember their names...

FOOD:
okay....  nuff said there....

WOW. I am amazed that you said you gave them two starts because of Nassau. You do know Freeport shouldn't be part of your review for the ship. I could see if you had a bad experience on their private island but come on really. i don't like Freeport or Nassau but I would never rate a ship on the ports they stop at especially when you picked this cruises knowing what ports it stopped at. Complaining about the kids another thing that has nothing to do with Carnival. i have 4 kids and i raised mine right so fault the parents instead. You said the ship was nice, the juggler was really good, comedians both guys were a complete success, and food was ok. well lets see if you take out all the complaining about stuff that had nothing to do with Carnival and gave a honest review on the ship itself you should of put a 4 star rating.

I agree with everything you say about the way some children are allowed to behave in shared space. Children "letting their hair down" should not equate to being unruly, disrespectful, and downright out of control. That is never okay. If people do not want to watch their children they should leave them at home. It is not other people's job to supervise their children.

Never cruise March April June July August Thanksgiving week or Christmas to New Year. Then you will be happy.

I guess you could just pick the kids up and throw him overboard. I'm just joking but that makes you want to think that

Next time try cruising with Princess or Celebrity. They have less children.

MAYBE, Carnival has reduced RATES for those who do want to take a "family" vacation. Kids sometimes need to "let their hair down" also. I don't agree with kids being rude and disruptive but not the kids fault, it's the parents of today's society. If I want an exclusive with my husband, I do pay a little more for those perks.
