We use a powerstrip. It's proven the easiest to pack and manage. I don't want to experiment with the power pads. The strip works just fine. Make sure it's relatively new. If it looks old, it may be taken from you. Oh, and for some reason, it can't be an over current protected strip. Check Carnivals FAQs on that one. I don't know the reasoning for it.
