Review summary

This turned out to be a ultra cruise for gamblers. Didn't enjoy the casino experience at all. We are not big gamblers but do enjoy causally playing the slots each day. This wasn't the case on this cruise. Notification should be given to passengers about this type of cruise during the reservation process.

Too much flashing lights with the stage shows. They cause headaches for my husband.

Service and Staff

Our waiter, Marius, was great. We also enjoyed Thushar stopping by our table a few times. He is fantastic. We also had a very nice experience with Cadesha Mitchell at Guest Services. She was very efficient and friendly. We enjoyed our interaction with her and left feeling very satisfied.

Cabin / Stateroom

Needed a mattress topper to make it more comfortable and the bed always developed a big valley between the two each night. The bedside lamps could use some updating. The shelf for the TV sets out too far, especially when trying to use the safe. We both bumped our heads on it.

Disembarkation

We carried our luggage off the ship. We had to be out of the cabin by 8, but the ship didn't dock until 10. There is not sufficient seating for everyone especially with luggage. Then being called by decks to disembark wasn't helpful for the passengers standing around with their luggage. Why not let them disembark after priority and before calling decks.

So you expect the cruiseline to inform you that there might be more people in the casino then you care for????

Flashing lights in the eyes are big on Carnival, and other lines seem to be following as they put in the new ‘do everything’ stage lights.
