Review summary

The Legend's itinerary is a relaxing one as there is only one port. The entertainment is a highlight. The fitness center is top notch. The ship's decor was very distasteful and became distracting to me. Unless there is a special itinerary, I would not choose it again. I have found other Carnival ships to have a more pleasing theme. The Carnival App was helpful; I would like it to have included communicating with other guests on board.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Once we realized that a wheelchair or an assistive device was needed, the staff accommodated in a professional, friendly manner.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food in the main dining room, where we preferred to eat, was good. Some items better than others. The steak restaurant was delicious and the setting was beautiful. The buffet was typical of on board buffets. I was expecting a Deli, given the name, but it would have been more appropriately named, Sandwiches.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The fitness center was exceptional. The hot tub there was not hot and there were no staff available to assist, although we did ask. The DJ at the pool did a great job. The cruise director, Cam, was exceptional. The motown night in the atrium which he and the DJ worked, was great. Good selection of music, playing to the generations on board. The Military get together was special. Cam did a wonderful job. My suggestion when people are recognized (i.e. first responders, nurses, educators, etc.) is to add Mental Health Professionals. I mentioned this to Cam and he suggested to add that as a suggestion for general Carnival comments.

Entertainment

FANTASTIC!!! The shows were marvelous- a very talented group. The string performers were excellent. All of the entertainers were top notch.

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Exceptional service from the waiter, Michael Mendiata. The hostess we engaged with most at the dining room, Chaw Chaw, was warm, friendly, and helpful with the wheelchair we used. The customer service desk was extremely helpful, as I needed a wheelchair for my partner, who didn't recognize that the walking on board was too difficult. I was unaware of the scooter rental option before we boarded. I would have liked that option on board, which would have enhanced our overall mobility. Our cabin steward, Rino, was very helpful and efficient.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Cleanliness was excellent. I did not care for the decor at all.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very comfortable, clean. The balcony was nice and I utilized it. The paint was a little rusty. The chairs were fine.

Ship tip

Don't miss the entertainment, fitness center, or steak house.

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland Did not visit port

Just embarked and got off ship

King's Wharf, Bermuda

5 out of 5
We took the ferry to Hamilton, which I would recommend. We hired a private taxi driver, who was very knowledgable for a 2 hour tour and returned via the ferry. Bermuda exceeded my expectations

Disembarkation

We took our bags for the expedited disembarkation.
