You can't beat leaving from a home port for a cruise. I used to cruise on the Carnival Pride when it was in Baltimore, now I love the Legend. Carnival is a great cruiseline and I will continue to cruise with them. My only complaint is the internet access. It could be better. But the staff, the food (bring your own seasonings), drinks and entertainment can't be beat.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
My son dropped us off at 12 noon, we were on the Lido deck before 1230! That included checking our covid status, going through security, getting checked in and going up the ramp to get on the ship!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We had anytime dining, but never made it to the dining room since most of the same menu was on the Lido deck. I don't eat meat so my selections were limited, but I learned later that I should have asked if they had meatless burgers which would have been great to eat at Guy's Burger Joint! Next cruise I'll ask.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
This was mainly a cruise to chill. Although I had a balcony stateroom, I still wanted to go to Serenity to curl up in a clamshell. You have to go early as they fill quickly, and we weren't able to obtain one. We did eat most of our meals outside in the Serenity area, nice to have a place where there are not children running around and bumping into you screaming.
Entertainment

Loved the shows! My only complaint was that the Motown Review was 30 minutes long! Consuela Ivy rocked the house! Loved her audience participation!
Children's Programs
No children were taken on this cruise.
Service and Staff

If you are on Deck 5 forward starboard, I hope you get Anthony as your room steward! He is the best!
Ship Quality

Layout is nice but design a little dark for my taste. All common areas were cleaned on a regular basis.
Cabin / Stateroom

Love a balcony stateroom but wish if you have an extended balcony that you would have a chaise lounger. Would make it better than trying to fight to get one on the upper decks.
Due to being a platinum member, disembarkating was great. Just make sure to take a light jacket when you are sitting in the Follies theater as you may be there for about an hour before you are informed to leave. It gets cold in there and most of us were wearing summer clothing!
Responding to question posed on Legend Disembarking:
Whatever is posted on the sailings Carnival itinerary is the expected time….
Of course, weather/circumstances CAN change and Ship announcements would be shared, accordingly….
