Review summary

This was a great first cruise back since the pandemic. Sure we had some inconveniences with the masks, but well worth it. The relaxation was got was well needed.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The embarkation process was involved for us because our daughter needed to be tested again at the port because she wasn’t fully vaccinated yet. The whole process went pretty smooth. After we got that done, the rest went quick. We checked in and we’re able to get right on the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food at the buffets were ok, Nothing special. The main dining room dinners were really good at times. There “Rare Finds” were great. We had the Ox tongue and it was awesome. The Escargot is probably my favorite. Don’t tell anyone but I had that for my appetizer and main course. My personal best - 5 orders. All in all if you go hungry it’s your own fault. There is something for everyone. My own critique would be they need more specialty dining options.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There is always something going on. Make sure you’re checking the Carnival Hub app. From the pool to the casino to the shows. They have bingo and trivia. It was all good. Leigh the cruise director was awesome. Very entertaining.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The shows were great. The Playlist Performers did an awesome job.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
Not really used by us. My daughter became fully vaccinated the 3rd day of the cruise. We went up to sign her up for camp ocean and the staff was great, but we never had a chance to drop her off because there was so much other stuff going on.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was excellent from Leigh the cruise director, to or dining room servers Ronaldo, Gerlie and Andre, to our room steward Hamid and crew, to Kat in the Alchemy Bar and Percy at the Red Frog Rum Bar.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was very clean with staff cleaning at all hours. There we’re also hand sanitizer stations all over. And all staff and most people were wearing masks indoors.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was good. Just what you would expect for an extended balcony. The refrigerator was broken but Hamid our room steward got a new one installed immediately.

Ship tip

Ship is a little dated but we’ll worth it. It was great to be back cruising. If you drink moderately the beverage package is definitely worth it. It includes almost everything form bottled water to energy drinks to specialty coffees to milkshakes to most all alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

Went to Nick’s fish house for dinner. Right on the water. Pricey but we’ll worth the crab and experience. .

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Not a fan of getting off in Nassau. This time we went on the dolphin swim at Balmoral Island. It was an awesome experience for my wife, daughter and me. It was something they have always wanted to do and it didn’t disappoint. Got to have true in the water experience. The staff was great and very informative. We even got to see a mom with her baby.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Really liked HMC. Went on the stingray adventure. Got a great interaction with them from petting to feeding to yep kissing them. The beach is great. I suggest a clamshell or cabana if you get burned. The sun is relentless. But that is what we all go for.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
This went as expected. Nothing new here.
