Review summary

My husband and I had an amazing anniversary in Hawaii but did not enjoy our ship. We were disappointed in the food since we paid extra to eat in formal dining room and found out the buffet served the exact same meals. We did not purchase the drink package since they wanted add on more tax and gratuities even after we paid them ahead and would have had to pay for the days at port and the last day even though we got off the ship at 8:30am. The pictures were great but there was no package to choose from so you had to pay $22 each picture (not worth it). We had to wait 4 hours to get off the ship at a port due to ship docking with tender boats so we only seen that island for 4 hours. We were hoping for more Hawaiian themed activities on ship (music, decorations, picture backgrounds, or food) while at sea for 5 straight days but there was nothing to do with Hawaii until the first port in Hawaii. Overall the staff was amazing and out room was good except there was only 5 channels to watch at night and 3 of them were Carnival (excursions, shopping, show from previous day).

the only restaurant on the ship was the buffet and the food was the same every day, salad bar had same choices every day, breakfast was same every day, pizza station was limited and same choices every day

the activities were not age appropriate for everyone. we spent a lot of time and money in casino since there was nothing else to do.

the only entertainers we liked was Sam & James that was filling in for the 5 sea days and had to get off the ship at our first port .

You must be talking about another ship main dining room is free. You don't pay gratuities on carnival to Australia as AUD I did trip to Hawaii last year and there was lots of island themed things to do craft workshops etc.the only drinks package is soft drinks and cost around $100 for the 17 days. Plus the return cruise to Australia departs from Hawaii in September not december an I'm booked on it

It's not extra to eat in main dining room on any ship!!... And to compare it to the buffet is like comparing McDonald's to a five star restraunt!.... Are u sure you didn't get confused?????

I don't think you understood the cruise pricing. You don't pay extra to eat in the Main Dining Room. It is included for free. You can pay extra for the steakhouse or sushi, but not the MDR. If you paid $57+ PP/day for the drink package, I hope you got it! If you are confused on any of these things, I am a travel agent that would be glad to help you next time.
