Review summary

We recently sailed on Carnival's Legend. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the ship. However, we were disappointed in the large number of areas designated for smoking. The casino was almost unbearable for non-smokers. The food was at best average except for the Golden Fleece which was exceptional. (However it was $70.00 extra.) It was difficult to find food we enjoyed even in the cafes on the 9th deck. The tender from the ship to Belize was horrible. We waited in Belize on the tender for 35 - 40 minutes for the tender to fill up instead of making scheduled runs. It was extremely hot. We were also appauled to find out that on Tuesday evening all room stewards were ordered to remove ALL Bibles from ALL staterooms. It will be difficult for us to ever ride on Carnival due to this decision.

Our cabin steward was very efficient and was willing to meet any needs we had. We had two different problems with our room and a situation where our Bible was removed from our room without our knowledge. The assistant head of housekeeping was very quick to come to our room on both occasions and remedied the issues. She was very polite and helpful However\, when we went to Guest Services to report our missing our Bible which had our credit card in it. (Who would have thought they would have removed a Bible on Tuesday night from a drawer with other personal items on top of it.) She was not helpful and somewhat condesending in her interactions.

When we arrived in our room the bathroom wreaked of cigarette smoke. It was obvious that someone had been smoking in the room the prior week. The steward and asst. head of housekeeping did remedy the situation by cleaning our room twice.

Pros: The weather was beautiful. The ship was so smooth we didn't even realize we were sailing the majority of the time.

Cons: The food at best was average as was the service in the dining room. Our waiters were nice but we had to remind them nightly that we wanted tea and our glasses were empty most of the time. Only two nights did we feel like the food was the quality it should have been.

Recommends Carnival Legend? Yes!
