Carnival Jubilee

7 Night Western Caribbean (Galveston Roundtrip)

Sail date: May 11, 2024

Ship: Carnival Jubilee

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 6 months ago

Review summary

Having been on Mardi Gras and Celebration I had high expectations. The Jubilee didn’t disappoint. Only negative is the repetitive itinerary that you get cruising out of Galveston. Carnival needs to figure out how to mix it up a bit and do 6 nights on western Caribbean instead of 7.

Embarkation

I love cruising out of Galveston. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Boarding the ship is a breeze. We were through security and on the ship within 10 minutes

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
There are so many free options. We didn’t eat one time in the MDR. Love Shaqs chicken and Guys of course.

Chibang!

This Venue is free for the inaugural year. We ate here three times during our sailing. I loved the noodles!

Guy's Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse

5 out of 5

Guys is always a winner. We ate dinner and lunch here a few times.

Rudi's Seagrill

5 out of 5

We are here the last night. The food and the service was outstanding. The bread is awesome.

Big Chicken

5 out of 5

Absolutely love Shaqs Big Chicken. It’s a must on this ship.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Basically our activities were comedy shows and live music. Pools were always pretty busy.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Some of the BEST entertainment I’ve seen on a ship. The first two comedians were amazing. The last three left a lot to be desired. Justin the guitar soloist was GREAT. So was the other guitar soloists. The shows were well done. Scott Harris was solid in the piano bar. The house band was very good in Center Stage and Pig and Anchors.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Being a new ship many of the crew are Carnivals top crew across the Fleet. It really shows on this ship. Staff was friendly and attentive.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Love everything about the Jubilee.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a great balcony cabin and K our room attendant was awesome.

Ship tip

Take advantage of the different food venues and have fun.

I agree with you on the itinerary. We’ve also cruised on the Mardi Gras (and loved it), but we live in Texas. We loved the Jubilee, but I do not want to go to Costa Maya or the same ‘ol places ever again.
