Review summary

The most fun I've had on ANY cruise. First New Year's cruise for me and I might have to do it again. Everyone was so friendly. Met so many great people.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
I had a 11:30 to 12:00 boarding time and arrive a couple minutes late. Was put into the early/late line and it went pretty fast. It took about 10 to 15 minutes in total to get on board.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Best food I've ever had on a Carnival cruise hands down. So many complimentary and specialty dining options to choose from. I ate Bonsai Teppanyaki, Rudi's Sea Grill, 555 Steakhouse, ChiBang, Guy's Pig & Anchor, Big Cicken, and Cucina Del Capilano. Enjoyed them all. The wait times at the MDR were pretty long but I feel like that is something that will improve as time goes by.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
So much to do and so little time to do it. I think there's a little something for everyone. Plenty of live music, show, games shows, bars, pools, hot tubs, etc...

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I didn't make it to any of the shows in the theater. I did enjoy a lot of performances in the Grand Central area. Seemed like there was always something going on there in the evenings. Also, Kyndall Fire was an amazing Cruise Director and really brought a lot of energy and fun to the duration of the cruise.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was just as professional and welcoming as I've come to always expect from Carnival. It always feels like a homecoming anytime I get on board. Nothing negative here.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Loved the design and layout of this ship. It was my first XL class and it was really a game changer for me. It will be hard to go back to the other ships.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I had a Havana Interior cabin on deck 8. Great location. The room was immaculate and cozy.

Ship tip

Just bring a little patience with you to deal with the lines and little bumps that are bound to happen. Also, don't feel like you have to do everything in a day.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
This has always been my biggest complaint with Carnival. Every time in the past was always complete chaos. This time was 1000% better. I was on the New Year's cruise and they began using the app to do disembarkation and it went really smooth this time in my opinion. So much less stressful. I hope they keep it up.
