Great quick getaway before Christmas! Had fun with our friends #cruisefam! Would recommend for a fun weekend that doesn't cost an arm and a leg

Embarkation

Super quick and easy to get on board

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Dining room was clean, as it has been on all the other ships we have been on. We had anytime dining and were always seated within 30 minutes. We didn''t spend much time at the buffet, but we did eat at blue iguana quite often and they always have great tacos!

Alchemy Bar

5 out of 5

Alchemy Bar is my favorite bar on the ship! There are SOOOO many good drinks and you can customize your own too. The bartenders listen to you and can put a twist on a drink for you to enjoy. Special shoutout to Atilla! He is great and always had a new drink for me to try and I loved it.

BlueIguana Cantina

5 out of 5

This is always our first stop (right after the bar) when we get on board. We get tacos and they hit the spot. My favorite is the fish tacos. They go great with Tequila

Blue Iguana Tequila Bar

5 out of 5

Get Roca Patron! Especially if you have the drink package, its worth it (its the most expensive tequila on board included in the package). This is usually our first stop right before we hit the blue iguana taco bar.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
This is a smaller ship and it was in December which means cooler weather. Somehow the pool was still full, which was fine since there is only one pool on board. The one big bummer of the trip was that there was only one working hot tub on the serenity deck. The gym was clean as usual, and it was far less crowded than on the larger ships.

Serenity

4 out of 5

Okay, on the larger boats, Serenity deck is amazing. On the smaller boats, its not perfect. However, this is a nice place to escape the kids on board and its a great view on the back of the boat. Unfortunately only one hot tub was working on our cruise which was a bummer but it was still a nice place to nap or get a few cocktails and hang out.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The carnival entertainment is always great! We love the piano bar and watching the shows in the main theater. The comedy club will always take the cake, we make sure we are there every night! The comedians are always top notch, and its right next to Alchemy Bar which is great.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service is always top notch and there is always someone to take your drink order near the pools and hot tubs which is nice. Everyone the dining room was nice and attentive and had a great sense of humor. Special shoutout to Atilla at Alchemy Bar! We cruised on the Vista in 2018 and he was on board that ship, so it was great to see a friendly and familiar face on board. Not to mention he makes killer drinks!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
From my experience, the ships are always clean and well maintained even on the older ships.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was our first time staying in an interior cabin. Let me tell you, its a trip! The fake window really threw me off and its literally a dark dungeon box inside. However, we really don''t spend much time in our room and since it was a quick trip, it was not horrible. I am a total sun person, so I would prefer having a window, and anything longer than a few days I would need the sunlight coming into my room (unless the price is significantly different).

Ship tip

Be aware this is a smaller ship without all the bells and whistles offered on a larger ship, but I enjoy the small ship and running into the same people a lot

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

5 out of 5
Long Beach is an easy port to embark and disembark in! Not to mention its an easy flight there and back. Check out the Queen Mary which is right next to the terminal.

Ensenada, Mexico

3 out of 5
Okay, this was our own fault that we didn't love it. We went to a bar across from Papas and Beer that smelled like chemicals and then we had headaches and left early. The actual port was fun, especially with the HUGE flag! We also got handmade churros for just a few dollars and we really enjoyed eating those before we got back on board.

Disembarkation

Super easy and fast!
