Review summary

We took this cruise just for a quick Fall get away. It gave us a chance to try Carnival cruises. I have never seen an embarkation go so fast and smoothly. At 1 pm, the line for the buffet lunch was so long, we gave up and got a burger on deck. The main issue with the cruise - when we got to our cabin it was cold, with cold air blowing out of the vent. I asked the room steward. She turned the control knob and brought us an extra blanket. Still cold. Hard to sleep with a cold draft blowing on my face all night. Called Guest Services the next morning. Bluntly told the ship does not have heat, turn the vent off. No help at all. The fact that this ship has no heat should be disclosed before booking. 4 days in a cold tin can is not my idea of a pleasant cruise.

Embarkation

Very well organized. Almost no wait.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Staff service was excellent. My Time dining worked out well. Lido Buffet frequently had long lines because they had only one side open. Compared to RC, the choices were limited. Tables were not promptly cleared or thoroughly cleaned, just wiped.

Onboard Activities

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Staff went out of their way to be nice and friendly, except Guest Services. I called about it being cold in the cabin. "This ship doesn't have heat. Close the vent in the ceiling." Not much help, a lot of attitude.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The ship has no heating system. It has a cold air vent system. I could not shut the vent off completely. Always had a cold draft. There was no place on the ship to get warm. Contact surfaces, railings, etc were not cleaned regularly, if at all. On RC surfaces are wiped several times a day.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Good size, large bathroom, plenty of storage. Lacking outlets. Pat kept everything neat and clean. MISERABLY COLD!!!!!!

Ship tip

Don't go on any trip if the temperatures are going to be below 75 - 80 degrees, day and night.

We took a non-Carnival excursion - winery tour. Even though it was raining, we had a good time and learned a lot about the area.

Disembarkation

typically slow.

Been on Inspiration twice, poor thing is getting old in the tooth. Sorry to hear about the cold. Thanks for the warning. I think she just came out of overhaul less than a year ago. Maybe she needs another. Thanks for the review.

Glad you were able to enjoy your get away other than the cold cabin.

Agree with you about the cold. I've been on this ship twice during the summer and FREEZE each time. Turning the AC knob doesn't seem to turn it off completely and it doesnt matter which cabin. I've had ocean view and grand suite

We went the last week in October. I also like to froze to death. The extra blanket did help though. My advice is pack sweaters....and long underwear. Lol
