Review summary
My wife and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary. We live in Long Beach and are blessed to Uber to and from the ship. This was our 2nd cruise and met our expectations. A great 4 night getaway. Will do it again
Embarkation
5 out of 5
It was so easy!! We splurged for the Faster to the Fun. 4 day I think was 60$ well worth embarkation!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
My wife and I had Dine Anytime therefore we were in Mardi Gras MDR. We ate there every morning and night. Morning service is a bit slower than night. But still worth the wait.
The tacos were delicious!! But be prepared to wait if there is a line. Same with the pizza. But also yummy! Guys burger is really tasty, but the fries are meh. Meaning soggy. Only Buffett was the late night cookie and brownies. Sugar cookies delicious. Brownies ok. Gotta 24 hr soft serve and frozen yogurt as long as it's working.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The serenity deck is awesome on embarkation day if you get there before the muster. Hot jacuzzis to ourselves. Played mini golf, that was fun. It was pretty funny watching these guys try to play pool. Watching all of the balls slide to 1 side.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We went to the 2 stage shows they had and were pretty impressed. Our cruise director Ryan Rose was on point.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
ALL Staff really goes out of there way to make your cruise sweet! Tip them. Stewards are awesome. Take care of them($) and they will take care of you. Same with waiters and Maiderde if you want a no problem window table.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Ship has an easy layout, besides the the aft galley throws you off w/ elevators. The ship is as good as expected. Anybody else should upgrade their cruise line.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
We loved our little window cabin. Plenty of closet space and very cozy bed. TV is fuzzy(not HD) and has no sports! Gotta go upstairs. Perfect for what a couple needs.
Ship tip
Have fun! Be ready to share the ship with all kinds of cruisers. My wife and I loved our little 4 night cruise!
Ensenada isn't your typical Mexican port. Consider it the mini version of Mazatlan. It has lots of potential and fun, you just have to find it. If you want a quiet little resort check out Las Rosa's, excellent food with a beautiful view! About 10 minutes north. They treat customers like royalty.
Try to get off early, possibly 1st 2 tenders and rent a golf cart. $50 for 1 hr gets you and 3 passengers a 12 mile beautiful tour around Avalon. Well worth it. If you go over they prorate it according. Skin dive(snorkeled) off of Descanso beach. Saw all kinds of fish. Introduced the wife to Buffalo's milk. A blended cocktail. Exclusive to Catalina. Good Time.
Easy easy. Grab a porter they will take all of your luggage and they have their own line. Meaning usually faster through customs. Make sure you tip them right.👍😁
