Embarkation

5 out of 5
No problems and was a speedy process

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was always good..

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pools and the water slide always accessible

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The first day while on the ship constantly getting hounded by the bar waiters. The 18% gratuity automatically placed on every order was outrageous. The room stewards though were amazing. The room was always clean and tidy. We would find a new towel animal each afternoon.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was always well maintained

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room was perfect and the only complaint was the limited, crappy channel selections.

Ship tip

Get ready for sticker shock for gratuities for ANYTHING you purchase on your Sail & Sign card. If you decide to bring your own alcohol, .ie Wine or champagne BRING IT IN YOUR CARRY ON!! The carry on means with you and NOT checked with the porters. If you do so the booze nazis will take it away and leave you a nasty gram in your checked bags.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

5 out of 5
Convenient to the major freeways

Ensenada, Mexico

3 out of 5
It was ok as it is Mexico and be ready to get hit by several different kinds of vendors or beggars for money.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and efficient if you choose the Express (take your own bags off the ship)

18% gratuity on every purchase with S&S card is factually not correct. Shame on you.

Even in the on board shops. I don't remember paying a gratuity in the shops🤔

First cruise or visit to a poor country? Of course there are vendors and beggars. You dont have to buy from them or give them money. They wont hurt you! If you read the cruise contract or the FAQS you will see that everthing you are complaining about is written clearly black and white.. Tipping 18% for drinks brought to you, what is wrong with that. I usually add to that. These crew members work their buts off to make us happy! Wine must be in carry on 1 per person if the find it in your suitcase they will assume you are smuggling an additional one. FYI and soda must be in cans.

A little research goes a long way!

Alcohol is supposed to be carried on, not in checked bags. If you did your research, you'd know the 18% gratuity is charged to beverages. If you purchase Cheers, it's added at purchase.
